Bench Shirt Help

I have a f6 size 46 it clearly can fit my chest but since the arms are so tight i cant get it to the chest it there any way i can alter it myself so i can get it on.

put more weight on the bar

I would exchange it really…

You might try getting someone to help you out with putting on the bench shirt. Mine works fine, but there is no fucking way in hell I’ll be able to put it on solo.

Trash bags over the arms to act like suit slippers for the arms, it helps but doesn’t do everything, it’s hard work putting on a new suit until it gets used a little.

hazard,

How big are you? i am a small 242 and i use a 46 and it takes 575ish to touch. You need to get it on with help, then have somebody reach inside the shirt and hold the shoulder, then swim your arm into the sleeve. Get the sleeve fully over your elbow, then get the shirt over your head, then pull the shirt down, then let the shirt warm to body temp. Then have your partner use his elbow to crank the shirt down in the front. Then use your belt to hold it in position.

And people think the gear does all the work. LOL. Gear is NOT easy to master, but worth the work when the white lights come on.

im also a smaller 242 i weigh in at 232
this is my first shirt and max raw bench is 350 with no pause and i have comp in june for the ipf so im trying to get ready as fast as possible.

takes 500 to touch a f6?
if so i might be in trouble lol

Get the shirt on and take 405 to a 4 board, then a 3 board, then a 2, 1, then your chest. My bet is it will take at least 455 to touch. If you are strong in the lockout you are in business, if not get stronger!

jack

Also I have heard of people inflateing footballs in the sleeves to stretch them out (same thing for squat suits)

i put the shirt on and it clearly can not go to my chest with the help of my two friends. but i tried anyways i put 315 opn the bar only went half way down and left 4 cuts across my chest right above my niple and also left bite marks on my tricep. the arms are just to tight i cant get the underpit part of the shirt to my underpit.its 2 or 3 inches off
is this normall?

It shouldn’t be leaving any cuts on your chest.

Triceps marks are normal but I haven’t seen people get cuts on their chests like…ever.

People usually get them, like I said, on their triceps and the top part of the lat where the lats meet the arms.

Sounds like you may just need a looser shirt.

The problem is that it is probably not seating because of the diameter of the seams around the arms at the shoulder.

These tend to not stretch much. You probably need a bigger shirt. I am a 220 and I use a 46 F6.

I can’t get a 44 to even come close to seating, because of the same reason, and am better off with a 46 and then altering the chest panel as my training cycle progresses.

The marks on your chest are a good thing. This is happening because the shirt is not fully seated, and is pushing hard. We actually gradually work the shirt down our arms and out of the pits after each attempt because it allows you to pull the neck line down further and the shirt follows through better.

Maybe consider a custom with 46 panel and 48 sleeves.

sadly at this moment with prom and other stuff im poor would i be able to pull of using this shirt and just sucking it up and taking the pain? or will probally wont ever work and im mildly screwed intel i get a new one

Bench shirts hurt, but there’s a difference between it being too tight and hurting and just the general pain associated with the equipment.

If it doesn’t fit, send it back.

If it just hurts like a bitch and you think it’s only slightly too tight then just break it in.

Without trying to physically put you in the shirt, I have no idea.

Based on what you have described, the sleeve openings at the shoulders are too small.

The problem is you could potentially use the shirt but I am assuming you are relatively new to gear, or at least an F6 and the fit you describe is going to be hard to learn and will probably take way more weight than you can handle right now to touch.

Why can’t you exchange it? Just get a 48. You can always have the chest panel taken in later.
