Bench Shirt Help

Recently I decided I was ready to start training with a Bench shirt, I’m going to start with a RageX, and I have been all sized up and everything.

The only problem is that I can’t decide if I should make all my sizes one to two inches bigger for the shirt since I know I’m still going to put on more mass and I want to keep the shirt for at least two years.

The only thing I am worried about adding a couple more inches to my shirt size is that I might not perform as well in the shirt as I would with a shirt in my present sizing.

I would like to hear any one’s opinion who has aleast a bit of experience with shirts and also I would like to know if it would be okay for me to start with a scoop neck ragex as a beginner.

That is a pretty good shirt for a beginner. Is fairly forgiving on the groove. They seem to be very hard to get on the arms, but the chest part will be easy. What are your measurements at? Arms relaxed and around chest?

I had another guy that lifted with us who never used a shirt and he got a titan fury and with only 3 weeks practice in it did fine at the meet with it. We had him go 1 size bigger than what he measured out at since it was his first shirt. They do stretch out some. I’d bet after a while you will want to get another size smaller after it gets broken in.

I’d get it the size you are now; that way if and when you grow the shirt will be tighter or as tight if it stretches out a bit

I agree, stick with the right size now. You will only want it to be tighter later.

My sizes all relaxed are 16.5 inches-arms, 47 inches-chest, 54.5 inches-shoulders
I was definitely planing to make the arms for atleast a 17incher maybe even 18 just because I heard the arms are tight as hell

You want it tight.

It’ll stretch out.

Enjoy the scars.

Get whatever size they recommend for your correct measurements. Try it on. Then decide if you need to go up a size. They will exchange it as long as it wasn’t custom, dirty, or used. Regarding the scoop neck, I highly suggest it once you get your right size. Get a 1" scooped Crazy neck…trust me. I have a half-dozen RageX (singles & doubles). I also suggest having the arm length chopped 2" unless you have monkey-arms.

I’ve got a 47 in chest but 15 in arms relaxed. You may want to go with a custom size cause I’ll bet your arms might have a hard time fitting.

i bought a ragex 2ply and got it wit in 2 weeks and during that 2 weeks i grew out of the shirt but my buddies still some hw got me into it and it is just taking a little longer to break in, but i get 225lbs out of it…

Well I ordered my shirt with 47 chest 54 shoulder and 17 inch arms I and I made sure these were the right measurements after having myself literally measured 10 times by four different people. I was wondering if their are any articles, videos, or whatever people could give me links to on anything about the technique of the shirt or even putting on. Thanks guys you have been alot of help.

the main thing with bench shirts or any powerlifting gear is the mere faact that is going to be small when you first get it and may not even fit you at all because you have to take into consideration that you will more than likely grow from the time that you order that gear

so anyway my point is get the gear a little bit bigger than what they tell you in the fitting guides…know that my arms, chest shoulders, and back all grew extremely and i ordered mine just 1 size bigger and it was still small on me, but we made work and now it is almost completely broken in
