Bench Press Question

hey when i do bench press you think it would be better to start heavy and then decrease the weight but still do the same reps for all the sets or start light and go heavy and again do the same reps for all the sets? thanks in advance guys

It would be easier to start light and work up because it gets you warmed up. I can never lift heavy right off of the first press personally.

You do warm up, don’t you?

If you choose a given weight that you can just barely get all your reps with- let’s say 5 triples with 315 for example. Chances are that weight will be pretty easy for the first or second set, ok for the third and pretty damn hard for the fourth and fifth. In order to accomodate your exahaustion on the last set, you are sacrificing some intensity in the first few sets So why not do this- take your warm ups- then go 335,355,335 or 355,315,315. Make sense?
