I’m a beginner and I’ve been reading up on the various supplements on the site. I’m tryning to gain big cause i weigh only 160 @ 5’11. I calculated all the calories i need through Massive Eating Articles(felt like math homework). And been looking at some workout plans on the forum. I plan on working out in the morning like between 6:30 or 7 before my 9 o’clock classes(in college). So i pretty much got what i want to do all i need is help on supplementaon.
Current Supplements I’m looking to get:
Creatine
Surge
Power Drive
Grow! Shakes
Grow! Bars
My main question is how would i go about taking creatine thats if i can mix it with Power Drive in the morning be4 working out??
And i read for Power Drive that u should take it on an empty stomach so that would mean i would jus wake up and take the power drive then go straight to lifting?
creatine, Surge, and Power Drive can i take all three??
Thanks in advance for the help.
I would say just get some Grow! for now. when you are first starting out you will and should make huge gains. as long as you work out hard and eat enough, you will make huge gains.eat, eat, eat and eat more. take grow to make sure you are getting enough protein.when your gains start to slow then take supplements. the hardest part about traing is eating enough food.
Alright I’ll give you a little clue, you don’t need creatine, what you need is water. Lots of it 8 glasses a day. That’s what creatine is for. It forces water into your muscles and your muscles use the oxygen in the water.
The other thing is I don’t use any supplement besides protein because I just want to make sure I got enough protein.
One thing that some people like to forget is recovery. Yeah I’m not just talking about do a four day split so you have the weekends and wednesday off. I’m talking about going to bed and sleeping for 9+ hours. Myself I set myself up for atleast 10+ hours. That gives me enough recovery so I can do a 5 day split without overtraining.
If you don’t believe me here are my stats:
Weight: 195lbs to 205lbs. (1.5 months)
Bodyfat: 20.4% to 15% (2 months)
Bench: 135lbs to 175lbs (3 months)
Squat: 250lbs to 315lbs (3 months)
Deadlift: 225lbs to 280lbs (3 months)
Clean: 135lbs to 205lbs (3 months)
That is just from doing my routine. I don’t like to waste my money either, but you do what works for you. If it doesn’t work for you but works for joe bob. Don’t use it then, figure out what works for you.
Yeah I’m a sophmore in college freshman yr was in the weight room a lot… people though i was crayzie. Especially when i was doing trisets for legs with squats, lunges and leg curls. But yeah i’ve had similar gains from jus eating and drinking a lot of water and supplementing with protein. Just want to try other supplementation since i been reading this forum. But Being only 160…i dunno my body fat but i use to be 145 when i got into college freshman yr then i was lifting, drinking a lot of water(my freakin dorm room was lined with gallon jugs of it), and whey protein. So i was gettin it last yr. my peak wieght was 170 aroung february. But then i injured my hand so i couldn’t lift. So i went down bout 5 pounds after that…then summer another 5 pounds.
But my lifts improved…so i know the benefit of eating a good amount of food and protein in ur diet. Chicken breasts was my friend at school.
But last time i maxed out in spring be4 i hurt my hand
squat was 305 then after 350
bench was 155 or 160 then after 215
power clean 135 dunno…but i think i can get 200+ cause i repped with 185 a couple of times
Other lifts don’t know but when i get back on campus like on the 17th imma max out again
and the Surge n stuff…since i’m not goin to be lifting in the afternoon …i jus believe it will give me that energy i need to focus in class. Creatine i can live without…it’s jus that one of my friends took it and was sayin it helps him while working out.

Thats why i was asking…what can i take…concurrently…most poeple telling me stuff i have read or already know …but i appreciate yall feedback though.
Once i get myself tested for my body fat and calculate my lean mass i’ll post though. but that won’t be til later on this month.
It’s already been said. I’ll say it again. You don’t really need any supplements. You need to eat big and lift big.
