I feel really solid at the bottom of my bench but about mid way up I feel like my elbows get quite unstable. See 235 set, or csullis bench vid from awhile back. If anyone has any ideas feel free to share
Still following the log… Your bench is looking good. Missing at the top is a good problem to have. Do some lockout work i.e. pin presses, board presses etc… and make skull crushers an accessory movement. Not sure about the stability unless you have bad elbows or if you are pulling your scapula off the bench instead of pushing into the bench and flaring… See ya…
Awesome lifting man. You’re gonna bench more than 315 when you do decide to max.
I think you probably have that in the bag now.

Thanks, yes elbow irritability has been a problem. I love doing skullcrushers and do them whenever I can pain free

How do you eat your 500g of carbs?
Nice benching recently, I second the idea to step off the gas for a bit, mainly so I can catch up ![]()

Daily staples are rice, fruit, potatoes w/ veggies, toast and jelly, and sherbert. Check your barbecue sauce label even things like that can give you 32-35 carbs for 4 tablespoons.

Step off the gas on pressing…looks like that leaves me no choice but to start legs again ![]()

If you’re on a roll with your pressing then I’d just keep riding that wave until you feel like you need a deload and a maintenance phase. No one ever got stronger by quitting while there was still progress to be made!

Elbows and shoulders are taking a beating lol I’ll figure something out though. How far away is your meet?

December 6th. I can’t squat right now though due to some hip flexor issues so looks like I’ll be doing bench press only and deadlift only.

You don’t mean push pull? lol
CAT squat
5x5 @ 190 in 11 min
SSB paused squat
3x5
Deficit sldl
3x8
Good/bad girl
2x20
Felt lactic acid build up after the 2nd set of 5. Every squat was so not fun that I would just sit at the top and tell myself I was gonna quit midset but instead I would just drop suddenly so I would have to come back up loo

Thanks. I find it incredibly difficult to eat anymore than 200g or so of “clean” carbs.
Toast and jelly is a good idea too. Lots of sugar in jam.
