You’re a lot closer than you think. 315x8 may have felt heavy but it wasn’t. Your last rep was almost as fast as your first! On your top set go fucking crazy and rep that shit out until you’re purple and grinding reps out. I’ll bet you could get 315x12 or even more if you just grit your teeth and refuse to fail. [/quote]

When I was doing 5/3/1 I would video tape my top set so that I didn’t have to count reps. Having a number in your head can mind fuck you into thinking that you can’t do anymore when you still have some left in the tank.

I can t tell ya how much vids have helped . Great idea.

On squats where I thought I had lean or knee cave… it was just slow. Had neither.

On deads where it felt sloowww … was really more similiar to first rep than not!

Sometimes the rep feels so slow but looks solid on camera…can’t let our minds get the best of us

Well, at my size and workload, “cutting” equates to eating 4,000 cals on my training days and 3,000 cals on my off days so I’m not exactly starving lol. I just cut junky carbs and fats out of my diet and I don’t binge eat like I used to when I was bulking up. It’s working well though, I’ve lost 40lbs in 4 months and managed to hit some PR’s in the process.

It’s taken my over a year but I’ve came to the conclusion that incline/close grip > overhead in terms of bench progression.

Close grip inclines are the shizznittle for bench press carryover. Nice training session.
