Love squats on this routine. Squats have been my most improved lift on BBB

great input man

BBB is a great program…the six workouts a week/one workout aday set up kicks ass, especially for someone who is just getting into bodbuilding…for a beginner id reccomend this program way more than something like starting strength or some 5x5 routine…as this program will actually pack size on you while getting your lifts up.

Dorian, if you can’t even type a proper sentence, you shouldn’t be on this thread criticizing BBB. I’ve done DC and I find that BBB allows me to eat much more food without gaining fat while I gain muscle. BBB is split into 3 week waves and gives the lifter different amounts of volume and density. DC is more for the super huge lifters who have been doing it for years. BBB can be started by anyone who spends a little time on the pre-conditioning phase first.

Brb off to do some modificated splits

After two months, I’m abandoning Big Beyond Belief. I almost never have lingering injuries but I do now! My elbows have been killing me because BBB has you doing heavy upper body 6 days per week. My knee was bothering me all day yesterday and I’ve never had knee issues. Also, since I irritated my back it still isn’t 100%. I still haven’t fully decided what I’m going to do but it’ll probably be more volume type training with a strength emphasis on deadlift and bench. I think it’s a good program, I just couldn’t handle it.

@ Zach Rounsaville
about joints pain/stress some say they enjoy the suggested program in a recent article about Serge Nubret it might be a transition to your next selection

All the best!

That’s interesting, I’ve been using the BBB template for the last few months but with more volume (two exercises for each bodypart per session instead of one) and I’ve never felt better recovered from one workout to the next. Admittedly my nutrition has been far more consistent and dialled in than ever before in my training life (due to prepping for my first show) but every bodypart has been ready to fire again 48 hours later with no lingering joint soreness, even legs.

Previously when I was doing the “each bodypart once per week” thing, I’d be sore as hell on my warmup sets for legs despite having a full seven days of recovery. Overall, I’ve been doing around the same overall volume per bodypart (around 18 sets per bodypart) as before but split up over three sessions during the week.

The other beauty part with this program is being able to hit each exercise for each bodypart with maximum poundage - ie the exercises that might normally be your 4th or 5th if you were doing say just a back or legs workout are high on the agenda in BBB so you can attack them fresh instead of taxed from previous exercises for that muscle.

Right now I really don’t see myself training any other way than this moderate volume / high frequency fashion with undulating rep ranges that BBB prescribes. Once I’m finished with this contest (it’s next weekend) I’ll more than likely go back to the BBB 4 day routine and stick to it hard and heavy as its written.

x2

  • progression is slower than DC
  • its harder than DC and worser and needs more food
    +bad for gaining mass…
no good things unless ur a beginer

Anyone just run first Ramp + Training phase repeatedly, instead of doing the entire program. Doing the 6 day program, I just don’t think I can manage hitting chest, back, legs, and calves everyday with anything resembling true failure. Plus, what makes the first ramp so great is it seems to follow the principles similar to Phil Hernon. I’m thinking of just running the first ramp and training phases a few times through. Thoughts?

Yeah I did that from November through to about Feb/March this year and it was a great way to train although as I have said before not too kind on my tendons but my strength did shoot up.

I started incline db benching the 80’s for 8 by the time Feb came round I was onto the 110’s for 6. Although I think the aggressive movement up in weight is what contributed to my tendon troubles.

this is fine, although eventually youll get bored with it, or just fear day 2s workout so much that youll stop hahah. I did just that for a while (ramp 1 with a two week supergrowth/training phase) seems to work for me, Ill probably go back to it after my show.

Well, you are a beginner, to both lifting and apparently the English language.

Thanks guys. I figured that the best results seem to come from the first ramp anyways, and I like it best. I’ll run just it a few times through.

Gentlemen,

Doing BBB for the third time in my life. Each time I’ve used this program it has worked! I personally think each person needs to modify it to suit their own unique needs but generally speaking I believe it is not by much (at least from what I have experienced). For me I can’t train to failure as I have benefited from stopping a rep or two short of “failure”, but the fast and controlled reps seem to work better for me instead of the slower TUT type reps. So glad I have the program on PDF!! Having said that; if anyone here has any tips based on this program, please advise and thank you in advance for your input.

Thanks - Z

2 more days of Week 3, of Ramp one. Training phase starts next week, and I’m super excited lol

I have to thank this forum for all the threads about BBB and usefuls tips. I’m on it (6days x week) from 6-7 months with pretty nice results on both size and strenght, especially on squats and legs/arms mass, my lacking bodyparts…like many others said before me is mandatory staying in caloric surplus on this program or you get burned after few weeks. The best template i’ve ever used

Last workout of the 1st ramp. Ready for my Supergrowth/Training Phase. I’m pretty worn out from the ramp, so this is MUCH needed.
