i think everything is fine with moderation, unless you’re someone who has a problem and cant have ANY quantity of anything
i was bad w/ drugs and alcohol when i was 16-17 then i had enough of all that bullshit and went sober for like a year now i just drink in moderation and try to have a good time instead of getting bent.
i used to smoke cigarettes too but got tired of how they made me look and feel. (which is why in one of my profile pics on here i have a Newport sign in my room…its actually still there just for decoration, trashy? yes)
if you think completely avoiding alcohol makes you healthier, it fucking doesnt. theres guys that drink casually who have a 6 pack and lift more than you. like i said, everything in moderation and you’re good.

but the truth is most str8’s die of drug overdoses. These are the ones you see with the X tats and all that. I just can’t see you being sxe just because you dont drink or smoke. Abstaining from certain things is nowhere near str8. Abstaining from things just means you do not do it.
X is a movement, a cause its much more than living clean. All I was saying is that the sxe label is being overused today and anybody who doesnt do drugs stands behind it, forgetting what it actually is

I went to a straight edge party once a few years ago. I, myself, am not straight edge but I respect other people’s personal choices. I had a few friends who were straight edge and they thought, since I don’t really drink much and don’t take any drugs (once again, personal choice) they’d invite me. Anyways, all the straight edge people at the party talked about was drugs and alcohol.
I’ve never seen a group of people talk so much about booze and drugs than a time I accidentally went to a narcotics anonymous meeting. It was boring and depressing. Not because there wasn’t any booze or drugs at the party but because those people had their heads so far up their asses about booze and drugs they forgot how to have a good time. It felt like that we were at a PETA meeting planning an animal rights rally in front of a slaughter house … that was the mood at the party.
Straight edge? No thanks. I like enjoying life and not hating something because I can’t control myself when I take it.

I don’t think OP was saying God is hogwash. I think he was saying using God as an excuse not to do drugs/drink is hogwash. i loved going to punk shows when i was younger and punching straight edge kids in the face… their a bunch of pansy asses who need to shut their fucking mouths… if you choose not to drink and do drugs, that’s your choice, but don’t throw it in peoples faces, that’s fucking stupid.
everyone has their own decisions to make… as far as it goes, i drink maybe once a week… i used to smoke a lot of weed, but then after the military, i tried smoking again and i just got paranoid as fuck so i quit. if your straight edge, that’s cool, just keep your opinions to yourself

I only drink a bottle or two of wine in one night per year.
