from what im gathering u are saying is that straight edgers are self righteous about their lifestyle.
Well i find that people who drink and go out all the time are doing the same thing.
So many people i know who drink all the time constantly go on about how they cant believe im not a big drinker(a big no no in Australia) and how i should be drinking this and taking that.They look at me like im some sort of freak. Just the same way straight edgers look at drinkers.

how the hell are s.X.e. with 7 girlfriends? And str8 edge is all about nightlife. notice the X on the hands at clubs…means you cant drink “Straight Edge” started that. The club scene (straight edge evolved into scene kids) for str8’s is the ultimate test of commitment. Anyone can say they dont drink if theyre never exposed to alchy, but a true warrior loves to fight the pressure
I dont like going to bar.I dont like to drink because I hate feeling sick.
I would never go to a bar or club with some people who are not really my friend. It is just not that fun and it is not worth it. I dont like that kind of life.
I enjoy being with people that I like, then maybe I will drink with them. I dont enjoy just the drinking.

Never did i say i was Straight edge.I said i was close to being straight edge(doesnt mean i am)
I could never be a straight edge person.While i like to live a fairly clean lifestyle i still like junk food and other straight edge no no’s.

I was being silly with that response.That was the point.
I just find it funny how people think u can not have “fun” without drinking themselves under the table every weekend or smoking a joint.
Like I said, I don’t call myself straight edge. I just don’t enjoy some of the same thing that other people do.
Funny thing is that MOST of the SE guys on here haven’t been preachy at all. Yet alot of the drinkers/smokers are the ones getting all defensive. People can do whatever the hell they want. Saying that one way is better than the other or “I like fun” type statements are just stupid. People enjoy different things. Get over it.
I was a SERIOUS straight edger in middleschool into the beginning years of highschool along with all my friends. We used to walk around with X’s on our hands and do all the dickhead shit that stereotyped SXE kids do. Crashing parties, running peoples pockets, beating up people who came to shows fucked up, you name it we did it. Grew out of that once my friends started getting killed and developed a pretty formidable drug habit once i lost the support group, and started college though. I cant really blame myself though as looking back everyone I knew (including most of my teachers) were fucking drug addicts. Cleaned up my act now that im out of that situation, and ill have a beer or two on holidays but other then that im living clean again.
If anybody around Charleston, SC is SXE ill be moving to Mount Pleasant in September.
I wish I could say I was straight edge. I don’t drink or smoke, but I have used marijuana on a sporadic basis over the last few years. The last time I smoked weed was back in January, so I’ve been straight edge for six months, but the plants finish in 10 weeks so… crap
