You’ve obviously never been high if you think an endorphin high is the same as most drug highs.

Good job with all the responses guys.
Im actually suprised with the amount of people who dont drink or smoke on here.
Where i live people smoke like 2-3 packets daily and buy 4 longnecks(a very big bottle of beer) after work EVERY SINGLE day. They look at me strange when i say im off to the gym in my lunch break and then see my slugging back a protein shake when i return.
But in closing im not a fan of the straight edge type of lifestyle. While i have mentioned i hardly drink ever ,dont smoke etc etc i could not live by all the “rules” that a str8 edger has to live by.
This all started from watching WWE .The world champion is named Cm Punk.He claims to be straight edge,he has X on both his hands when he comes out to wrestle. The funny thing with CM punk is that he looks like the biggest druggie the WWE has.

For the record, and I can’t remember if this has been touched on or not, but “true” straight-edge people don’t have premarital sex either.
Haha… Seriously, who doesn’t love sex?
And with the whole pre-martial sex issue, is straight-edge supposed to be like a religion or something? what’s
the reason behind no sex?[/quote]
Being straight-edge is supposed to be ridding yourself of all things you don’t need to survive, removing all negative and distracting influence from your life, in order to focus on your supreme goal or desire in life. Kind of move all the distractions out of the way in order to get down to what you really believe and really want to accomplish. Your body is a temple-unto itself, and keeping your temple pure and clean in the first step towards leading a fulfilling life.
Pot, pre-marital sex, alcohol.
Full of win.
EDIT-Errrr, nothing to see here…Nothing behind the curtain at all!
KingofKings- check your private messages. I was going to post something here, but cut/pasted it into pm instead.

You know what shits me. When people say its un-australian to not drink/smoke. Seriously. As long as drinking/drugs don’t take over your life then fine, but I’ve talked to many business owners who can only pay some of their staff on Friday evening because they go spend it all on drugs/alcohol.
I use to drink/smoke cigs and weed and now I don’t do any. I can honestly say the quality of my life hasn’t decreased in any way at all.
I
Don’t smoke
Don’t do drugs
I only drink once every couple months, though I’m going to college so I think that might change. Fortunately I don’t like beer so that limits my options.
As fun as being buzzed is, I still can’t help but think I’m putting something toxic inside my body.

You’re putting something toxic in your body each time you eat or drink anything. Unless you go overboard then your drinking at college will be fine.
Yes, I am, thanks for asking!!
Alcoholic, addictive tendencies and depression run in my blood, so I’m avoiding that…
No drinking, No Smoking (I used to smoke cigars, maybe one every month or two), No Drugs, No Premarital sex. I know a lot of you say you don’t do it for God, but I do. I believe, and I’m not going to press it on anyone else but everything’s workin’ out fine for me. No regrets so far.
Side note- What’s up with my level? It says level zero. Maybe the wrong thread to put this in for sure, but I’ve spent a butt load of cash and was a level 3 a few weeks ago. ???
I don’t identify as straight edge but I fit the description more than most people I know.
I’ve never had a drink; never smoked a cigarette, never done any drugs.
It’s not a moral thing at all to me - most of my friends do some or all of these things, and I’ve had more sex with more people than most of my friends combined. Currently happy with my girlfriend.
I graduated from college last year, made it through without succumbing to the normal temptations. Mildly proud of myself because of it, but I feel like I have to emphasize that I do not think any of this makes me any better than anyone else. I’ve just never felt the need to do any of those things.
look up FSU gang

Good thinking man, especially since all three of those often run hand in hand.
I’m more of a chipped edge. I say,“No!” to pre-marital alcohol

Please don’t.
FSU has straight edge connections, but it was started to rid the hardcore music scene of dickhead nazi’s who beat up all our jewish and black friends. Now it has spiraled completely out of control and original context to become a bunch of straight edgers who sell drugs and gang bang.
Although they have saved my ass more then once in camden.
I’m straight edge.
For about 5 hours a day.

Great post. This is pretty much the only good reason you could have to be criticising drug and alcohol users. Unless you used to use one or both or was addicted, of course.
I hate people who elevate themselves over others just because they never drink/smoke.
