I sprained my ankle about 8 weeks ago (the tendon that connects the calf to the foot was injured, but not torn). While most of the pain is gone and functionality is back, I still can’t do everything I want (jumping/landing being a problem especially, absorbing shock or producing force quickly).
So, my question is, for those who were in a similar situation, what were the exercises that helped you most and what do you do to prevent something like this from happening (again)?
I’ve done the same thing multiple times to both ankles
I tried using the rubber bands for inversion/eversion, but it didn’t really do all that much for me personally to be honest…
Right now though, I’m in an experiment at my school that is studying the rehab it for ankle injuries. Mainly, they’re trying to see what should be rehabbed more; the ankle or the knee.
I’m in the knee group and over about 3 weeks I’ve experienced a notable increase in both ankle flexibility and it just feels a lot stronger and more stable than the other, which has also been injured, but not rehabbed.
Maybe try rehabbing both your ankle and your knee?
I have allot of trouble with my joints being very weak. I always go on the wobble board for a safe way to getting the joints stronger. A good strapping goes a long way, prevention is better than cure my man.
