It was a push/pull meet I competed the day before. Andy is huge! he has a massive waist thats for certain. Andy was talking to Chris Jenkins between his deadlift attemps and a few others and giving them a few tips. Nice fella
According to an interview on his website, he claims a “fighting weight” of 370 lbs at 6’

ROFL!!
What a lift!
For someone gradually coming back from his injuries to set a record like that… god damn. What is he going to pull at the ABDL Challenge?
Now KK has something to reach for.
Fuck. My. Life.
I think it’s funny that he is a monster yet is still swimming in that shirt at the end.
Stupid sick pulling
I just got into powerlifting recently. I’d heard of Andy but to see it is AMAZING!!!
The guy is an animal
He’s a complete and utter monster! Disgustingly strong and seems like the nicest person you’ll ever meet!
Bravo

Okay, not trying to take anything away from this, as it was obviously a godlike lift, but… why does it look like he’s not locking out? I noticed that on his 1000+ pound lifts as well, it always looks like he doesn’t lock his knees out.
Someone aware me. And don’t just say “it’s 1000 pounds lolol” please.[/quote]
I think in this video he is clearly locked out. I felt his 1003 was not locked out and I was looking for that to happen here, but I felt this lift was locked out. The bar rolled back into the lock out position and the fact that he stood there for a few seconds proved it was locked out, it would be near impossible to hold a max deadlift just short of lock out and act like that. His knees are pretty straight, I think his leg proportions just make them look a little bent, but I would give that lift white lights all the way. My .02 cents

Shirt? I believe he was wearing a 3 man tent. If you look close you can see the zipper flap.

Haha
I know this will stir more shit, but the “lockout” question comes down to the feds he competes in. Many of his big lifts i have seen wouldnt be counted in an IPF meet, but in other feds where the interpretation of the rules is different, he only locks out as much as he has to.
Just a different version of the squat depth/bench lockout debate.
The king of deadlifting.
andy will reign supreme for quite some time, unless konstantins takes it from him.

We’ll see what happens at the “King of King’s” deadlift challenge. http://www.powerliftingwatch.com/node/15402
I was also at this venue. I spoke to Andy before the event started. He has been designing my programs since last December. He is not squating at the moment as he is recovering from knee surgery. Maybe that is why his lockout looks a bit “soft” for the purists. The fact is, he got it up and held it there. He had plenty left over, but there was not a lot of competition for him.
He is organising a deadlift challenge for later on this year( i think this year ) so you should see the best of him then.
I was gonna say he got that world record but I remember seeing that Big Z video goocha just posted. Who will be number one?
Oh and RAW? It’s not raw, he is wearing a belt lol
I WAS THERE SAW THE WHOLE THING, ANDY IS THE MAN TAKING THE POWERLIFTING WORLD BY STORM. HE MADE THE LIFT LOOK EASY. CHECK HIS WEBSITE OUT AND SEE HIS TRAINING VIDEO

OK THANKS.
In all seriousness, that was insane! I don’t think the lockout should even be an issue, he made it look light.
