I want to go on the V-Diet, however Biotest in the UK is astronomical and way out of my budget, so I will call this the G-Diet as I understand that Biotest products should be predominately used on the V-Diet.
Instead of Surge, I will use Optimum Nutrition 100% Gold standard whey for post W/O.
I will supplement it with the other Biotest products such as HOT-ROX and what not.
Is this good enough? Will this prevent me from losing mass whilst losing fat provided I follow the other principles exactly?
I understand Chad Waterbury’s plans are recommended on the V-Diet. For someone who has been training for around 8 months, and is at around 16 - 17% bodyfat who wants to cut to 8-10% BF to start a bulk cycle, which plan should I follow?
You could always order from the site. To deliver to Australia (which probably costs more than the UK) it’s still much much cheaper than any local supplier.

I don’t want to pay more just for the sake of paying more though. There is no point, when there are comparable products that cost much much less, and at the quantity I will need it is way too costly.
I was just saying so because the V-Diet is formulated to work with Biotest sups. So it’s hard to tell what your results will be. Plus Biotest supplements are reasonably cheap compared to the Australian supplement market (it’s often cheaper to import Biotest than to buy cheap local sups).
I don’t know how it is in the UK.
I have no opinion as far as supplements go, you do what you feel is best for you…but as far as training goes, you can read this thread and find the beginners V-Diet workout which was designed by Chad Waterbury… http://www.musclewithattitude.com/readPhysClin.do?id=1884950

Whey is whey, Surge is whey plus other stuff.
I have seen poor man Surge recipes on some forum threads, but cannot think any particular at this time. Take a look around at the Surge threads as a place to start.

Surge actually contains a partially-predigested “hydrolyzed whey” for faster absorbption into the blood along with some select amino acids and simple carbs to spike insulin response.
I am on week 3 [day 18] of my own V-diet done with non-Biotest products; as I couldn’t afford their stuff in the quantities needed either. As long as you’re using a quality protein that contains a blend of fast and slow absorbing proteins it should work. I’m down 25 pounds already.
This diet is really simple to follow…but that doesn’t mean it’s easy. I’m not a smoker, so I can’t say this with conviction, but I liken it to trying to quit smoking…its the mental toughness you’ll need. I almost cave 100 times a day even though I’m not hungry at all. Just seeing something you know to be delicious will start your mouth watering. The cravings do seem to switch to healthier fare though. I’ve had cravings for broccoli and other whole foods, while not having any problems seeing pizza commercials or walking through the baking/snack isles at the grocery store.

ON Whey has Isolate, Concentrate, Hydrosylate and BCAAs.
To make a “poor man’s Surge”, add Dextrose and Maltodextrin in even quantities with the Whey.
