Whats your template look Like?
Template is big word…

The four days basically looks like this Squat/Bench, Bench/Dead, rest, and repeat. Right now I have no idea what to do for progression on squat and bench. Deadlift will be singles (1 day Light/medium with more reps, 1 day medium/heavy and fewer reps (some pulled from a def.)) with a rahter slow progression and focus on form and speed + rack pulls for back strength.

It’s not quite ready yet, but it will be by the end of August.
Word of advice.Dont get to worked up about worring about the progression on the squat and bench.I find the best thing is just go with your gut feeling and dont over think it.
That is good advice, and something I’ll keep in mind. I’ve made that mistake in the past… it wil not happen again.

Great squatting btw!

Very nice squatting. Looks like we had the same idea today but yours was a bit more successful. I hope you enjoyed your day off as much as I enjoyed mine.

How often do you typically squat heavy?
Any time I can be off worked and be payed for it im happy:)Since ive been doing 5/3/1 again and im using a lower training max I havent gone( Heavy,Heavy )in almost three months.I am going to do some heavy singels the last squat workout at the end of my cycle before my deload week.

Thanks. But im still kicking my ass, wondering if I had dug a little deeper if I could have gotten the 10 or not.

good numbers maybe youll finally get over your meet issue… I think you should be able to blast past 500 this time probably. 515… I am going to wait till next spring to compete but hope to go to yours when you go… I am making baby steps and am willing to wait. I want to total over a 1000 at my first meet… just a goal
SPRING!!!WTF!!What am I going to do with you? Trust me if I get over the hump,515 isnt going to do ,Ill only be happy with 525 or more.Lets be honest ive been trying to get 500 white lighted over a year now.The past 3 meets its been a no go.The first one I got, but was red lighted for a double bounce.2nd one I pulled my IT band on my openner. The Last meet the judges felt that all the guys needded to wipe there ass on the ground to be white lighted (gotta love USAPL)and I got stuck in the hole. And I know my squat form has improved and my strength is up since then.If I cant get it in October ;I might as well buy a skirt and do PX90.

Great millies, bulldog! Obviously your MPs are as strong as your other lifts.

I’m a dumbass…so it took me a bit to figure out what you were posting on your money set. Posting the target reps and commenting the actual reps.

Yeah man I figured I would list my target reps and say something about my last set.Just so anyone who wants to do 5/3/1 gets a feel how someone might do it.Thanks about the millies .Ill be honest, and know ill catch hell for this. But I like them more then the bench. To me a guy who can put up big numbers on a MPress speaks more to me then the Bench .I hope my late winter or early spring to hit near 315 on them.Plus I feel if a guy not going to lift in gear he has to make sure hes well rounded .

Thanks “Layer” Like I posted before 500 has given me the “fingure” for over a year and its pissing me off. When I do break throught to the others side.515 would be a slap in the face.

You won’t get any grief from me. I prefer military press to bench as well. I, obviously, want my bench to move, but I would rather have the 315# military than the 405# bench. Of course, I hope to have both one day.

Also, my bench seems to progress faster when I am doing millies. I have gone months without doing MP, and gone months with them in the mix. Bench always progresses faster during the MP months.

yeah I find the same holds true for me also. Yeah I could do jm presses ,board presses ect…But I dont seem to get the same results. When the Millies start to go up the bench follows. Not to mention the body strength you develop from having to stand upright and pressing the weight overhead.

7/5/10

warm up: pvc pipe roller
super set:stand ab crunches/band gm’s
light stretching

Cleans: 3-4 warm up sets
145x3
165x3
185x3

Deads: 225x5
275x5
352x5
375x3
430x3
485x3…Oh shit !! we have a problem Houston.Couldnt even break it off the ground.
Layed on the ground for at least 5 minutes before head quit spinning.took another 10 to unload the bar.

Nothing like a shit training session to bring a person down.I knew things werent going to go well by the first few pulls.Every thing felt heavy on the cleans.I had zero “pop” while doing them.It more or less went down hill from there. On top of that it was running around 100 degrees in the garage. With no air flow even with the main door open.Ill be damned if im still feeling light headed. To make matters worse the wife has PMS, please just shoot me.

I knew today was not a lift day… maybe tommorrow morning but I think I am going to wait till I get home from work tommorrow night and lift should be cool at midnight.

Yeah the heat realy knocked my pee pee in the dirt.Im still feeling the after effects after a few hours.

Things will get better. Saw your 2010 goal on the other thread. I think you’re on a good course for making it.
