That is a crazy ass bar! And even more crazy ass weight! Way to push through it. Watch the head lift, though. USAPL will red light that.
OK. That rocked.

2 reds or not, that was impressive. How did you get the pipe over the bar? I made one like that once with a regular 1 inch bar. I had to grind down the collars to get the pipe to slide over it. It did work though.
the power of the buddha belly compells you. awesome job!! my hands are so stubby and fat i couldn’t ever do those. do you do any reverse grip benching??

Ive made 3 different bars .That axel being a easy one.I made it from a cheap bar.Removed a bolt from each end.Took it apart took some duct tape, wraped it around a few places.used some WD40 and a hammer and slid the pipe over it.then put it back together.

atta boy. I have become vary acquainted with the taste of regurgitated Monster during and after prowler work. Question, why USAPL and NASA? just asking…

I Dont mind you asking. The only reason Ive done NASA is because when I was a younger guy I hanged out with two older lifters who where into NASA, big time.ANd I went to a lot of NASA meets with these guys.As for USAPL im just drawn to them due to there growing raw division. Both also hold normaly two meets a year here in Indiana. But I do have the option of SLP or APA.Thats pretty much it.
Never been to a NASA meet. I have a few friends who love them. Weird variance of rules from meet to meet from what I can tell, but in the end it all depends on who the judges are. And I seem to love to bomb anyway. SLP, I can understand why you would avoid them APA seems like it would be fun. I’ve done USAPL. Not my fav.
Great training BD. You got me wanting to get my homemade axle dusted off. My oldest son just turned 11 so I’m feeling old as well. Have you turned your son on to heavy metal? For my oldest the heavier the better. We listen to Coal Chamber,Manson,Slip Knot, etc.

My middle daughter is the same way with metal. Thanks to her, I have a whole slew of new metal bands that I listen too.

I havent looked into APA that much.So I dont have a opinion on them.SLP on the other hand from what I have been told by guys at meets plus from what I have read on the internet.Im not sure if I want to bother with SLP
