Thanks again for the greatings. This forum is the only chance I get to chat with other lifters.Since most of the guys my age in my area dont lift if they do its for fitness. I paid for that above pull.My glute hamstring tie in hurt for a week . got to love getting older.
Hey bulldog - nice to have another dog around!
Old dog? Now that really makes me feel old.
Welcome to the ‘slightly older than average’ lifting group. You’ll fit right in with all the 5/3/1 groupies around here. I don’t like them.

just watched your rack pull vid. i’ll give you some unsolicited advice- start the lift with all your weight back on your heels. set up with the bar against your shins and literally just force the hips forward.
don’t even think about picking the weight up. pulling from that deadspot can really put a strain on the lower back. hopefully this makes sense. from that height most of the movement should be the hips coming forward towards the bar. to me, what you are doing looks more like a stiff legged deadlift. DAMN YOUR EYES MEAT!!! How dare you give me unsolicited advice. LoL:) But yeah your right when I viewed it the first time I even thought ouch.Your right on the heel thing .I have a nasty habit of pulling from mid foot and not by my heels.Ive been working on that.
For one I droped my training max by 15% on 5/3/1 just so I can focus more on form.By the way feel free to tear me a new one when I do post a video and somthing looks like crap.Because im finding that its the small things that are killing my numbers. And that goes for the rest of my fellow lifters.
Listen to what this guy says. Last spring he gave me advice on my squat that turned things around on it for me. It’s a fine tuning thing that sometimes just takes the right set of eyes to see.

Ouboro, nobody mentioned the word “old”, so I assume this was a Freudian error on your part. Please don’t mention that word again; I have enough trouble maintaining my illusions as it is. And trust me, you’re very far from old.

You’ll go far, Bull, with an attitude like that.
Do you mean that in a good way or bad? I just dont want to come across the wrong way. When I was a younger guy I had this mind set that I knew it all at least in regards to training…As I got older I came to embrace that fact that I didnt know shit.I just feel when people get too secure and belive there own self B.s. they quit making progress.I feel a over blown ego is one of the worst things a guy can develop in regards to training.

I’ll speak for sfp - he meant it in best way. That’s one of the defining characteristics of the Over-35 forum, you can read what we write in a positive light. There is almost none of the typical internet bashing in here. Teasing and joking, yes, bashing and putdowns not at all.
Exactly what Soldog said. This is one of the only forums I belong to where anyone who trains gets decent advise and encouragement no matter what they are training for. There are O lifters, sprinters, MMA, highland junlkies, strongmen and women, I think awhile back there was even a speed skater. It really is unique…
