Abused Bulldog: Just a grumpy SOB

Dead openner light 502

Dead : openner light 502… In all respect there was hardly any physical effert in this but mentaly I was done at this point and I knew it.

dead : 2 attempt 535

Dead : 3rd attempt 535…For the record I had told the lady at the score table I was done after the second attempt. I changed my mind for the sake of pride with the same results.

After 3 rd attempt. Less then happy with myself. Deep down I knew I left a shit load on the platform.

You got a good total and you powered through some adversity. I think 1351 is a very good total and you learned some things. It sounded from the videos that your family was really rooting for you, so that is a double bonus. I’d say that was a pretty good meet, even if you did not hit all the numbers you wanted and left a few pounds on the table.

Great job,

Jack

You may not be happy with yourself but you got out there on the platform and got a total. Next time you’ll be smarter on the food and water leading into the meet.

I didn’t realise how much weight you’d cut in the past two months. That’s a lot to lose for a meet. That’s the big reason why you seemed to lack intensity; you must have been worn out. When did you do a 24 hour fast? Just thinking about that makes me want to cry. If I were you, I’d train at this weight and keep eating before your next meet. I hear more stories about poor meets from issues making weight than any other reason.

However, just because you look like you lack intensity when you watch your videos doesn’t mean that you actually lack it. Many people have told me that I look completely bored when I lift in a meet. Clearly that isn’t the case. What you see on the surface doesn’t always accurately reflect what’s in your head and heart.

I loved watching the videos and hearing your family supporting you. You looked great and you’re so lucky to have your family there even if your boys were driving you nuts on the drive

Love the boy doing Ronnie Coleman. “C’mon, lightweight, lightweight.” Loved it. Here’s the real upside to all this. Told someone else this once before. While the other kids are watching their Dad sit his fat ass on the couch you’ve given your’s some great memories and showing them how middle age should be done. You looked really good and got a total. The fasting thing takes a lot out of you. You’ve learned, you’ll do better next time. Loved the vids.

Finally got all the vids to load. Did the guy even give a lift off on your 3rd bench? He was barely touching the bar. Wasn’t even in position for a liftoff on your 1st one. You may have perferred it the way.

Oh hell yes. Either I need just to lean up now or say to hell with it and let my weight do what ever it wants. But this is THE LAST TIME!!!( note to self) That I fast before a Meet.

yeah i shot myself in the foot .I lost alot of lean meat on my frame this time around. T- shirts that where tight on me before have become loose on me. And your right, the whole 24 hour fast thing was bad news for me. considering I was also going super low carbs leading up to the weigh ins.

I can say for certain my wife is right about the lack of intensity on my part. It just wasnt there. I just couldnt get into that im going to rip someones head off mind set.Plus the length of the Meet didnt help. There was just to much down time .Sad thing was towards the end I wasnt enjoying the Meet as I normaly would. But any rate on the good side my piss poor preformance is what I needed. My pride is brused. when that happens it lights a fire under the old ass.

Speaking of family. My oldest boy is now wanting to do a Meet .

Yeah the lifting gives me a leg to stand on when I get on my oldest about giveing more effert in regards to his sports. Be it Football and wrestling. I just find it funny to see these out of shape middel age men who live vicarious through the kids in sports. When they havent done anything in years.

On the first attempt I didnt ask for one. Now on the third I didnt notice. But after looking at the video I think your right.

Absolutely loved watching your vids and reading your commentary about the meet. Thanks so much for sharing that with us. Sometimes I think the buildup can be so intense that there’s nothing left when the meet rolls around. Especially if you were dieting and fasting! But truly, you did just fine. Your numbers are really, really good. Live and learn. Like everything in life, it’s an experience that you can learn from and apply to your next meet. And there will be a next one!

Why don’t you take a liftoff in bench even for your opener?

I can’t get your DL vids to load but will check back later on those.

Good job, Bulldog!

good work man, you came, you saw, you kicked some ass.

Nice work.

It all looked damn good from this end. You may be disappointed in your performance, and I understand that, having been there many times before. But the only way you should be ashamed is if you failed to learn anything or fail to apply what you learned to your next time out. As Harry pointed out, just the example you are setting for your boys makes it all stellar. Good work here.

Just stopping by to see how the adults are training. Congrats on your meet! Sounds like you learned some great lessons but please don’t let anything detract from the numbers you did pull. I’m impressed.

hey man sorry I didnt stop and say hi yesterday you were busy with the team and I had been up for 18 or so hours when I was at the feild. this weekend was super rough on me but I think we put a total of 14 guys in jail this weekend so it was worth it.

Anywho you did pretty good at your meet as far as I am concerned I feel bad not going with you. I think you need to stay at the weight you are at. You look MUCH healthier and I know that you have to feel better. The weights will move with time and you will reach your goals on the platform but you dont have to weight 265 to do it.

x2 experience is a damn fine teacher.
