The only thing I would have red-lighted that for, was the stupidity of adding ROM to the lift by pressing it up before you lower it…

I found this video from a nasa meet i did back in Feb of 09. This was 380 and it got passed. At the time I wasnt sure why .I wouldnt have passed it.
I don’t know why it wouldn’t be passed. You had uneven extension but it didn’t look to me like the bar changed direction. Why wouldn’t you pass it?
I like your kids in the back ground.
When is the meet? Oct. 30?
The thing was they where red lighting others for even less uneven extension. I got lucky.
Yep. Oct 30 is my meet.

“stupidity”? man thats a hurtful word. Trust me it wasnt my idea. You cant hear it well but the head judge was on me about not having my elbows locked. In Nasa your elbows have to be locked before you can lower the bar.

I noticed that little press up before the start too. USAPL doesn’t allow the head lift, but otherwise it looked like a good lift.

That wasn’t intended to be hurtful… If the head judge told you to do it, then that’s what you had to do. Your starting position (before the extra extension) looked ok to me.
2 months to go. Might of missed it, what’s the breakdown of the 1500?
these are the ohio NASA records. I smell a new name on the board over there

NASA allows head movement on the Bench. Yeah ive been burned before on lifting my head in a USAPL meet.

I was just messing with you on the “hurtful remark”.

Damn.I knew I should not have open my big trap. Now I have to whip it out and put it on the table and hope I dont get it cut off. Well since you have put me on the spot I guess Ill break it down.
Squat:525 After hitting it over a month ago in training im pretty sure I should be able hit it.
Bench: 405 this is the one lift im sure about.
Deadlift:575 Ok this one is going to cut it close. As long as the Gods of Iron smile on me in two month I might get it. Plus if I regain some of the lost lbs from the past few months.

None of my numbers will count since I dont live in Ohio.
well doesnt that suck… guess you will have to do the Indiana meets… I think there numbers were lower…
Good going on committing yourself to numbers. Now go get 'em. Sucks that you can’t steal the records, though.
too bad you don’t live down here in the good ol’ South. The SPF is my fed of choice. I can’t stand the micromanagement of the USAPL and the self rightousness of NASA. I handled a buddy of mine at the USAPL Raw nationals and it was a show to say the least. at one point i gave him a good slap and you would have thought i had just dropped my pants and mooned the entire audience. I was told that that type of behavior was not permitted. It’s fucking powerlifting, not Dancing with the Stars.
My buddy also had one of the spotters grab the bar on his second attempt at bench for no reason. the head judge saw it and told him to attempt it again…right away. He wasn’t given the chance to even rest a moment. It was just a comedy of errors. Guys were being redlighted for no reason. one guy was redlighted for a perfect dead and i heard him ask why and the side judge said “it just didn’t look right to me” wtf??
the funniest thing… and i really mean saddest was that they had this fatass lifting off for all the benchers. you couldn’t use your own liftoff. the sad thing was that they didn’t have a platform behind the bench so the fat guy had to climb up on the beams of the bench, lift off and then climb down and then get out of the way BEFORE the head judge would give the START command. so, it was forever before you could even begin the bench…rediculous.
i feel better now…
^^^Are you talking about USAPL Raws in Denver?

Yeah, I looked up the state records.havent looked them up in about 6 months.Hell the Sub -master records in the 242 hasnt changed in over a year and a half. I met the guy who set them and ill tell you what,He is a real ASS HOLE.I’ll take great pleasure in crushing his record in the state meet next spring.

Ill be honest “snap” Ive been commited to those numbers for awhile.I just didnt want to state them to my fellow forum members .(im such a wimp). On another note im not realy worried about records ,as strange as it sounds.I have my own numbers I want to put up down the road.If I break some records on the way “Bonus for me” if not, oh well.

Trust me Meat .Ive ran into the same issue with NASA and USAPL .The dumbest thing I ran into at a meet they loaded the wrong weight on a second bench attempt on me. Needless to say I wasnt happy. Lets just say it messed up my third attempt.Another time ,one lifter pulled a muscle in his back deadlifting and dropped the weight.Well he sinned,he said" Fuck" the head judge ripped his ass. Sorry your in pain ,but dont use bad words.WTF?
