thanks man.Either the little extra twist will pay off or blow up in my face.As long as I can keep my shoulders healthy plus knowing what ive put up in the past.I hope to hit it in maybe 6-8 months ( me talking out my ass). But you know how it goes.9 times out of 10 when somone puts a time frame on gains they end up wrong.
Well let the fun begin.Time to drop the “crap carbs” out of the old diet.Bye Bye Pizza ,pasta, bread and my cookies .Hello green things. getting a little heavy right now.
a little heavy… I need to start making my food count for more also. The chocolate pudding pie I had for snack today was definetly not on my list of things I needed to eat… nor is the 32 OZ mountain dew Im drinking
I told myself I would not coach youth football again. There was a issue last year that turned me off.(Im having a hard time with the mind set of some of the other coaches,They forget we are a youth program not the fucking NFL!!) Well that was until we ended up with near 200 kids in are program. The wife went to are team draft tonight. She called to let me know that one of are divisions had to split into three teams.Guess who is coaching again??I knew I would end up coaching again. The writing was on the wall.I dont know how many of the kids ive helped coach in are program, have asked if I was going to be there coach again. And I ended up feeling like a ass when I told them I wasnt going to coach this year. Now I guess im a liar now .Ugh…
Helping coach my son’s 8th grade football team was one of the most difficult, yet rewarding things I have ever done. I hear you on the NFL thing. We had no one who could really throw, and they were trying to run the spread like our high school. I am a fan of the Wing T and similar type offenses for the younger kids. Rock on Bulldog!

If you gotta do it, well you gotta do it. I should too, and try to get down to -100kg but I have ZERO motivation right now.

yeah its pretty fun working with the kids. The NFL things is just a small issue I have with the program. We have to many head coaches who are in it for there own ego’s and not for the kids.I mean I enjoy seeing the boys winning but come on.These guys seem to live and die over there teams wins or loses.

Is it just a recreation league?
yes and no.We are slowly becoming a feeder program for the local Jr.high program. The president of are program is the Head High school varsity Football coach.

Nice lifting as usual!
trust me man.I like my food. Food is my friend. But if I want to be in the 242 class at my next meet I figure its time to clean things up. All this extra weight, in my mind is just a waste.By the way thanks for the kind words about my lifting .Like I have said before, Knowing that others lifter think im doing a good job keeps me motivated and keeps me from being lazy.

Bulldog, how many meets have you done? Let me know if you can get your emotions under control. I’m heading into my 10th and I’m getting better at it but I must admit that the stress and fear are part of the drug that keeps bringing me back. It’s the combination of fear of failure and elation at success. Sort of like a sweet and salty combination :)
^^ Yep to all. I’ve only done four meets, but I find that I’m a wired mess at each one. I do find that wiredness to be very addictive, though, and I experience a tremendous emotional down a few days after a meet.
You are quite strong, Bulldog! Regarding the walkouts, I start these at the end of my squat sessions when I’m about a month out from a meet. Sometimes the bar is banded from the top and I walk it out and squat it. The bands help with the pop out of the bottom. But I’m holding the full weight at the walkout. Really trains the CNS. So hard at first.
I also experience quite a post meet mental drop. I’m getting better at trying not to let each meet mean too much to me. For instance, at the upcoming one, I should get my elite total if I go 7 for 9. However, I’m not focusing on that because it’s not a given; I could bomb on squats since I’ve done it before. My focus is getting my third pull that I missed at my last meet. I know I can get that. Focusing on smaller points has been helping keep my stress levels somewhat under control.
The other addictive quality of a meet that keeps me coming back is the manufactured aggression and adrenaline that feels like fire and broken glass is shooting out my eyes but the time I’m up for my final pull. I purely love that feeling.

Curious what you tweaked that made such a difference. And why are you DLing with a raised heel?

I only have one meet under my belt, and I loved it, but I felt depressed for at least a week after. I ended up rolling straight into Smolov to break out of the funk.
Great work in here, Bulldog, by the way. Your training looks awesome.

(WARNING:Long Winded Reply!!)
Now the shoes im deadlifting in, heels arent super raised(see picture). But they do have more of a heel then my 'chucks". The whole heal things comes from Mark Rippetoe. He likes the idea of a raised heel.He has stated that his best deads have been done while wearing raised heel shoes. Which seems to bring “quads” more into play in the deadlift.“which im finding is true”
To get a idea of how my dead stance looked like before the “tweak” you can go back to page one on this thread and look at the video of a rack pull I did a few month ago. Since then ive brought my feet in a little and im now pointing the toes straight. On the rack pull video my toes are pointing at a angle.
