Abnormal Weight Gain?

I have been training just for sports for 2 years. Last week I started a push/pull bodybuilding routine with minimal exercises and heavy weight and I have already jumped from 177 to 185 since 9 days ago. All of it is quality muscle and im not taking steroids or any test boosters just creatine and BCAA’s along with true mass and Metabolic Drive.

I am still the same body fat as I was when I started this routine and I was just wondering if this is unhealthy or abnormal or what the hell is going on basically. Both Weigh in were in the morning before eating or drinking anything so i factored that in…any answers are appreciated.

Increased water retention leading to increased weight is a common side affect of taking creatine, and I think a good portion of the weight you gained is water weight.

There’s no way all 8 pounds of it are quality muscle.

you need a laxative you might be full of shit…literally

1 … How do you know this?

2 … Why are you holding your dick in your avatar?

I get my body fat tested for free as part of the “freshman 15” study that I signed up for so I know im still at 10%. Also i dont have aids, thirdly i know its all quality muscle because i haven’t gained but .28% on my body fat. I know some of it is water but I know its not that much because i am not bloated at all. I really appreciate the help from austin_bicep but the rest of you seem to be douches…anyone with a real suggestion would be appreciated. I am training using a HIT Hybrid workout and I was wondering if that might have something to do with it or if it has to do with the change from athletic sprint endurance training to hypertrophy training?

Since your so convinced that its all muscle, why ask anyone. Just be happy that you are a physiological anomaly. roll eyes

How do they test your body fat?

You claim to have gained 8 pounds of quality muscle in 9 days, but we’re the douches?

its called bioelectric impedance, I was asking id the 4 lbs of muscle were normal and the 4 lbs of water (im assuming 50% water based on talking to a guy from bsn on the phone), I was just asking for a little help and advice seeing as how im new to the whole bodybuilding thing.

Im sorry IronWarrior24 but i was just trying to understand what the scale was telling me and i thought that there would be some people on here that could help me. I was mistaken to assume only 2lbs of water weight and that was an arrogant assumption on my part. So 4lbs in 9 days? Still wondering why that would happen so quickly but i quess ill do some research and not ask around next time.

This conversation is more pointless as it goes on. It could have to do with if its the same scale, how recently you took a crap, and how many carbs you ate before this weigh in compared to the last one. Not to mention how hydrated you are and how much water your retaining from your creatine. And why the hell were you on the phone with
Bull
Shit
Nutrition.

You might be a genetic freak. But it’s more likely something you ate. Quite literally.

if ur not tightening up your diet or cardio fat burning its normal. welcome to general power and strength lifting.

thanks guys…im going to weigh myself again tomorrow so we’ll see if it has slowed down and im pretty sure it has because i don’t feel much heavier at all…what do you’ll think about taking a test booster like the one Biotest makes? Im assuming that I dont need it yet because of my age but I have friends who take them and gain really well from them and experience more intensity in the gym so i was definitely considering it as option to help pack on the weight

and

If it was all quality muscle, your body fat percentage would have decreased. That is the nature of percentages.

/thread.

You begin by stating that you are subjecting yourself to a new type of training. Your body is adapting/adjusting. Bodyweight variations up to 10% are common and to be expected. Your BF% has nothing to do with it; and it is mostly due to water. That doesn’t mean that it isn’t positive feedback.

Any increase in scale weight without increases in skin-fold readings is a good thing. The question I would ask is; Are you also experiencing a 10% increase in your strength levels?

HAHA

/facepalm

It could’ve all went to your feet or butt.

Seriously, weight scales can decalibrate and get off from one weigh in to the next, I think that’s your most likely explanation.
