I ended up having hard boiled eggs for breakfast…we’ll see how the tummy does later! And instead of brussel sprouts for lunch, I’m having carrots…you didn’t want to be near me yesterday…ugh!! LOL!!! Not sure what it was, but I think it was the bag o brussel sprouts!!
I’m still going to request an allergy test cause it would be interesting to see…but I’m eliminating dairy on my own accord…at least for two weeks! I do love my cottage cheese though!
And WHOAH!! My trainer is strong! At least I think so…he asked ME for a spot! I felt special…he got 515 for three(back squat) He’s in between shows right now, so he says he’s having fun lifting heavy, and trying to put on more size…and that crazy effer was doing walking lunges with 135! crazy…
So after that I felt froggy do did some squats…5x5x150!
Barbell curls
3x12x30
Concentration curls
3x12x20( I swear I have no left bicep, grumble)
CardioBikeHILL-level 10-30min[/quote]
Looks like a great (and fun) workout. You seem to be challenging yourself a lot lately!
yep…actually I was just thinking that my training has been all over the place lately, but I kinda like it!! It was also fun spotting my trainer today…I’ve never yelled at anyone like that before!! LOL!
I need to get back on track though…I’m at the 2 month hump, where I have been doing the saaaame routine, and I start to get a bit bored…it’s been helping by changing up the rep/set scheme but still staying true to the program…
I’ve put doing any extra training for strongman on hold I didn’t want to admit it, but last Sunday after training I was having the worst aches/pains, more than ever…so I am waiting for what the outcome of my appt on tuesday is.
I lost two pounds!! I’m FINALLY back to where I started when I met Victor…that only took what? two months to lose 7lbs? THat’s not bad! Almost normal, actually! yep, I managed to gain 7lbs through thanksgiving and NEw years apparently, just from not exercising as much… But I lost it, and that’s what counts!
I have my Biggest loser class this morning…
Maybe nothing else IS wrong with me, I just have to work harder than the normal person and be super extra strict about what I eat…
I’m still going to ask for extra tests just to rule everything out.
I did this iodine patch test…it’s supposed to show you if you are iodine deficient…you just paint a patch on your skin, I did mine on my stomach, and if it disappears by morning, then supposedly you are deficient…mine is nearly gone…I think I’ll try it on another part of my body tonight! I love a good experiment
Just bumping myself up!
It’s only been since Thursday that I haven’t had any dairy…I’m also going wheat free in these two weeks as well…not that I eat a lot of wheat products to begin with.
SO far, I can’t tell a difference, since my daughter is sharing her cold with me, grrr…
Overtraining can lead to a drain on the adrenals, so be careful. I am pretty sure that is what I did to myself. To help support the adrenals add vitamin C to bowel tolerance. I take a 1000mg morning, lunch and in the evening, total 3000 mg daily. Also the adrenals can be helped with salt, but not just any salt, Celtic Sea Salt. As for your cold, the vitamin C will help, but try some Vitamin D3.
So far since I have taken (october)I haven’t had a cold or the flu. The doctors are missing this very important fat soluble vitamin, especially for those of us that live in cold climates at this time of year. We don’t get much to none sunshine on are skin to convert the vitamine D are bodies need.
Alot of studies being done on it right now. There is a good thread on the Supplements & Nutrition Thread. I take 2000 UI’s daily split between two doses. I think the fat soluble looking vitamin is better than in the powder form. Hope these suggestions help.

Can I ask why you’ve decided to take out dairy and wheat? Have you been feeling ill after eating it or are you just seeing if dropping them will speed up your weight loss?
Because I have a feeling I have sensitivities to them.I used to have really bad headaches, and nose bleeds growing up, but I don’t think I was ever tested for allergies! I grew out of them, but they also stopped when I left home and stopped drinking so much milk!! coincidence? I don’t know!
Also,I am very carb intolerant to begin with, so I am trying my best to make the full switch to just quinoa, pumpkin and sweet potatos for my carbs after training…
Karen-
Thanks for chiming in!
My joint pills have vitamin D as well as my calcium supp…
Need to take the Vitamin C though! My daily vitamin has it, but I guess not nearly enough compared to how much you’re getting!
you know what’s weird is I did that iodine patch test, and mine was nearly gone by morning! The reading says it’s pretty rare to be iodine deficient…but then again I don’t eat the foods listed as containing iodide…hmm
my nurse is a bozo and was unwilling to listen let alone agree to these other tests I requested… WHY? Is it hurting her? ROAR!!! :< Then I got the whole lose weight/exercise and eat better speel, and at that time she sounded like the teacher on charlie brown…I was fuming…
I did get a compliment and was told I have ‘HUGE Quads!’ when she was checking out my knees…I got an xray done and was given a list of things not to do, and a generic diagnosis of arthritis…which I kind of already knew.
I definitely need a new doctor…but I don’t know which route to take…not all endocrinologists will test for what you ask for either, if they don’t believe there is a need…I could pay out of pocket to see a Naturopath, but I don’t really have a lot of money in my pockets, I think Ill just start with the endo.
You definitely have a great plan of action but do me a favor. Try this routine
Monday 60 minutes Cardio
Tuesday Strength Train- Upper Body
Wednesday 60 minutes Cardio
Thursday Strength Train- Lower Body
Friday 30 minutes of cardio with Yoga or Pilates
Saturday Class
Sunday Off
I am a big advocate of strength training but initially if you are trying to lose weight it might slightly slow the weight loss process down. When you lift your muscles tend to retain water so that may add a few pounds. Now keep in mind muscle is more dense so you might be losing inches. Diet is key, stick to a low fat diet because if you are strength training, you are building your muscles but retaining fat and that will just add weight.
You need to up your cardio intake. Once you start to lose you can implement more strength training into your workout because that will truly transform you body.[/b]
I can understand why that is confusing to you, but it is a matter of what your end goal is. The contest you are entered in is “Biggest Loser”. They are looking at body weight, not body fat lost.
Do you want to drop a lot of weight, at the expense of losing some muscle and strength?
OR
Are you content to be at a higher weight, with a higher BF percentage, but to be stronger and more muscular?
I tend to agree with the e-mail (mostly) if you want to drop more than 25lbs at a quicker rate, although that will come with a price.
For me the middle ground would be 3 days strength training, and rather than long and tedious cardio, add in some complexes (they whip your ass) and opt for HIIT. Do the resistance training with short rest periods. I also like giving people supersets or giant sets to keep things interesting. That way you will keep more muscle and strength, but you should loose some pounds.
That’s just me. Take 100 trainers and ask them, you’ll probably get 80 different answers.

It wasn’t just about being in the BL contest, it was my frustration at fat loss as a whole…she was nice enough to share some suggestions, and more cardio was her answer.
I get what you’re sayin, and I appreciate it Diana…
I’m pretty stubborn, and I’d rather keep the muscle that I do have…I don’t even know of any cardio I could do intense enough for an hour straight!
Complexes, eh? I’ve also been thinking of going back to EDT, that was some craziness right there! Any other programs that are worth checking out? I’ve heard of German Body comp.
I’ll have to poke around the articles today…
As far as HIIT goes, I’m pretty limited with my knees anymore…about the only thing I can think of is walking uphill fast? The elliptical KILLS my left knee…the bike is ok…but no jumping rope or sprinting for me!
I think I’ll do Destroying fat and then EDT and alternate that way for awhile and see what happens…those are my two fave programs…
It’s time to shake things up again!
I’m also going to keep track of every morsel that goes into my mouth and every amount of exercise I do, keep it in a notebook with me at all times, so no one can EVER say, ‘You need to eat better, and exercise!’
I thought I could have punched that lady in the junk yesterday, I was fuming…and she had the gaul(sp) to preach how wonderful weight watchers is, implying that I must sit at home eating twinkies all day! ROAR!!! ;<
The lady sounds like an idiot, but I had to go back and re-read her statements and I guess what she is saying makes sense. 60 minutes of Cardio is long and boring, who is to say you can’t break it up into two 30 minute sessions? Don’t know if you have time to do this with your family, but it is surely an option.
I usually do 30 minutes at lunch and then another 30 min. after I lift in evening. I too have been trying to up my cardio, but last week and this week it hasn’t been working. I also want to get back to one session of HIIT. All things in do time. I have to be careful not to over do it again, over excercise works on the adrenals.
I guess I say it won’t hurt to try, but stay to what you are doing and keeping your diet clean. I was a cardio queen, before I was introduced to weight lifting and I think they both have their place. But I always learned that the more muscle you have the more fat you will burn.
Don’t forget your thyroid is working against you right now and you don’t have the right doctor to get you thru. The right doctor is hard to find. Been there and have read many stories of the nightmares people have gone thru to get their health back because they could not convince a doctor they were sick or the tests that need to be done.
Heck I finally got my doctor to test my vitamin D3 level and found I am right where I need to be after taking 2000 UI’s since about October. I started out at 400 IU’s and pharamist suggested I up to 2000 IU’s I told pharmacist of my test levels and she figured I was probably at 8 prior to supplementation. The doc’s rather give you drugs then try alternative methods. You really have to research for your own health’s sake.
Did you ever go to stopthethyroidmadness.com or realthyroidhelp.com and seek answers? Wonderful sites! They were a great help in educating me and understanding what the doc was talking about. Kind of helps you push your doc a bit too.
Well stay strong as always. We will find the answers we seek to this weight loss issue.
As part of the Lean Eating Program we receive daily lessons…today’s is fasting! yep, no eating today, haha!
Good thing I ate early last night.only 7hrs to go!
It was kind of a surprise because I hadn’t looked ahead for the lessons this week…plus, I woke up really hungry! Should be interesting!
