I know how you feel Karen-
I remember the good ole’ days of the F-heit site…it wasn’t about ‘figure,’ but everyone had the same goals: to be healthy and STRONG!
About PN…first I bought Berardi’s book
‘metabolism advantage’…and once you do that you get access to the PN site…I saw how much everyone supported each other there, that I just went for the PN package because even though you could read all the things, you couldn’t respond.
Morning!
I was pleasantly surprised to see that I had dropped another pound since last Friday!! YAY! And that’s good considering AF is visiting, so I hope to see another two pound drop next week! Which would put me under what I weighed in at when I started with Victor…even though I’m having to re-lose this weight I gained(3 pounds) during the holidays :Rolling Eyes:
I also lost another half inch around my belly and hips…I measured around my chest out of curiosity and there is two inches missing there! Wonder if the hubby has noticed, LOL!! Also a 1.5 under my chest!
I’m finally on the right track!
Today’s training:
**I always warm up on the eliptical, but I’m looking into these dynamic warmups Molly is always talking about!
Deads- 1x5x135 1x3x185 1x1x205 1x1x225(PR) It was ugly, but I got it up…
I think I’m going to back off trying to max out. I really don’t feel comfy doing these on my own when it gets that heavy(without guidance anyway)…plus, I have a couple bulging discs in my back , and who knows if Im even supposed to be going crazy with the DL’s!
Iso-Row- 4x8x110
Seated Row- 3x10x80
One arm row- 3x10x35s
Leg raises off the bench-3x15
Treadmill-walk @3.5 for 2min jog@4.7 for 1 min…( I can jog for one minute, WAHOO!!)
I’ve been thinking a lot about competing lately…I’m wondering if PL’ing is even in the cards for me. I have been doing so much cardio, and one day when I get to maintainence land I’ll probably have to continue with the cardio…
Plus, I want to be able to keep up with my clients, and will also teach some group training classes…how are you supposed to train for PL with all that? I suppose anything is possible!!
Hello!
In an effort to step it up a notch, I will be training 6 days a week now!
I haven’t trained like that in almost 10 years!
Basically I’ll be hitting everything twice in a week, with intervals afterward…Victor agrees…
I’m not playing around anymore, damnit!
I’m just going to try and see how my body responds…If it’s too much I will back down a bit. If I like it, then so be it!! I want this weight off, but more than anything, I want to be an example to others when I start training people!!
Training:
Squats- 4x8x125
Leg Press- 4x8x180
Walking Lunges(hate THOSE!!!) 4x8x25lb dbs
RDL-4x8x40lb dbs
OH shoulder press- 4x8x30lb dbs
Bent lat raises-4x8x15lb dbs
Reverse Crunches- 4x20xBW
20min Bike-Hill intervals-Level 10

I had my first experience being a ‘trainer,’ this morning…there was this girl that just started with Victor(trainer) and she clearly she still wasn’t sure about what she should be doing! I had just finished my last set of shoulder presses, and she approached me!
So I tagged along to make sure she knew how to do everything…I even demonstrated some exercises, and observed how she did them…I felt cool!
feeling strong!!
(don’t mind the bruises, my husband still thinks he’s a highschool wrestler)
Ohh - looking good. The muscle I gained shows throughout the shoulders like yours does. It makes me feel good when I help people out at gym also. Thought about getting into training, but gave that up.
Still trying to get diet cleaned up. Actually going pretty good. Got some broccoli slaw and cole slaw and bought two apples. I haven’t had apples or much for apples for a long time. I was told to stay away from after I had my colonoscopy. Going to try them again, but planning on only having 1/2 of it with protein in a.m. and then a vegie in p.m. with protein. I hopes this does a cleansing process, getting the sugar out. The worst I do right now is my dark chocolate. Baby steps for me. I need to get pissed as Chris Shugart explained in one of his recent articles. Haven’t got that angry yet, just disgusted.
Well not trying to jack your thread. I think you are doing good. Perservance paid off for you.

The dumb bell flipping sounds like fun. One I’ve done a couple of times is throwing a heavy bag. I did it in my back yard with a 20 kg bag of cat litter. I’d just pick it up and throw it as hard as I could back and forth across the back yard. My neighbours think I’m a lunatic.
Now I don’t do any. Bad.

I hope to get to flip a real tire on Sunday!
oh ya forgot to mention…
I didnt get the scale to move down this week, but I lost another .5inch off my bum, and 1inch off my belly…
And my hubby gave me the ultimate compliment, by noting that my bbs are getting smaller
Tomorrow is the kick off to the Biggest Loser challenge at my gym…
I’m kind of nervous as to what the personal trainers will make us do…I’m pretty comfy in the program I am doing, and if everything goes my way, Sunday’s will be strongman day!
Oh ya, I saw that girl again that I helped out last week, and she kept coming up to me asking where and how to do things…I think she thinks I work there

Enjoy the strongman training. I think you’ll have a blast.
I once was doing a photo shoot for a client at a Toronto hospital and we had an orderly try to leave an unconscious patient with us. That’s when it’s not good that they think you work there. Maybe we could have incorporated her in the ad. After all, no one else was union.
LOL! Julie, you are a HOOT!
I don’t know if anyone took a peek at my thread in Strength Sports, but the promoter popped on and said that there is definitely going to be a woman’s competition!! EEK!!
Training starts Sunday!!
So it appears I have my workout cut out for me INDEED!!
The Biggest Loser kickoff was this morning, that was fun…there will be group training classes every Saturday morning for the next 8wks…And hopefully, I will get invited to train every Sunday with the strongman crew…(so much for having weekends off! :P)
So it will look this
M-walk outside/stretch
Tues- Legs(heavy)Abs/Cardio
Wed- Cleans/Pressing/Back
Thurs-walking/stretch
Fri- DL/Back/abs/cardio
Sat- BL class
Sun- strongman training?
i’m so glad ur doing the strongman comp. i bet ur gonna have a TON of fun.
good luck with the biggest loser!
What did the class involve? Did it center around the shows workout regimen? GL with strongman!
Thanks Dejavued!!
Jenny- yesterday was just the kick off…I’m assuming the classes will be bootcamp style, with lots of bodyweight exercises/isolation movements with light weight, etc…it’s not mandatory, but they encourage the group training for motivation…I think that’s when weigh-ins are as well.
I went to hang out with the strongman peeps this morning and got to see what it’s like…
I think the only thing I won’t really be able to simulate is the atlas stone lift/load and of course the tire flip…
But I plan on getting a tire here shortly…Graham(the chairmen) got rid of all his lighter stuff years ago, because there hasn’t been an interest shown by many females. I’m going to ask if maybe he could get me a tire, so I can practice at his place as well…he has 80lb concrete bags, and kegs of all sizes, but the stones are too heavy for me
And I really have to work on my cleans! Also I think I’ll be working on front squats more…or at least squatting down and picking up heavy things!
From now on, Sunday’s will be my strongman days, and I will just through the events, and try to get stronger and faster!
Julie-if you’re reading, did you get to practice with the stones before your comp?
