A Work in Progress

Oh ya, yesterday’s training:
3x8x90s rest in between

Standing db shoulder press- 25s( I think I can go up to 30s next time)
Lat pulldown- 80lbs(5lb increase)
Squats- 85lb
Good mornings-75lb-still a weird movement to me
Leg curls- 70lbs
Tricep pulldowns- 35lbs
Lying leg raises? 3x12-HARD!

oh and I walk 10min before and after, to get the extra steps in…I’ve been averaging 11,000 steps a day…thats about 5.5 miles!

I did not weigh or measure myself this morning…I chickened out…

The hubby is in some training til close to 5pm everyday this week…I might take this week off from the gym since I can only go when he gets home and just walk everyday and do push ups and junk…

How long have you been doing good mornings? They are one of my favourites and I always feel them in my hamstrings the next day. Plus I credit them with giving my ass a three dimensional look versus the flat ass look I used to sport.

Hey Lady,

Just checking in on you. How are you doing? I hope quite well. Still lifting strong I see. I have my deadlifts up to 75#. I hope to get my squats there tomorrow. Working these two up slow, so I don’t blow something.

Stay strong!!

Things are going ok…
Life got a little bit busier since I started school, but I’ve been waking earlier in the morning to crack that out…and I just steal time throughout the day as well. It’s an online program, very different from the traditional in-class environment.but it’s working out so far!

O- I rotate doing good mornings with SLDL’s…but since I prefer sldl’s I don’t do GM’s very often, but since the program I’m doing recommends them I’ve been trying to be more consistent with them…sometimes I can’t do GM’s because all the barbells are taken, so I do hyper’s as well, which is my favorite way to hit the lower back!

oh, and I forgot to mention that I have lost an inch off my belly and an inch off my hips(in the past two weeks)…I hope this means Im where I’m supposed to be at as far eating. Plus I added the walks back in that I got lazy about before…

Good workout today…it felt good at least since it had been a few days…

3x5x60s rest in between’

-db military press
2x5x35s 1x5x30s- the 35s were hard and I barely got the last two on the second set, grrr, I want to use them dangit! I’d say within the month though…

Latpulldowns- 100lbs

Squats-2x8x45 2x8x85
3x5x105-woot!!(5lbs since last squat,20lbs in about a month)
I’ll have to record it next time form felt good too!

Good mornings- 80lbs- did a three count down and up and could really feel the stretch…*actually felt it in my hammies this time

Seated Calf raises-90lbs
Db hammer curls- 30s(+5lbs since last workout)

It felt good…I’m getting stronger, and not sacrificing form.

Looks like you are doing good. Hang in there, looks like the inches are starting to come off. Same here! I had to modify the V-Diet a bit and now it seems things are moving for me. Now I just have to stay smart and not do this to myself again.

Got my DL’s up to 75# and I feel good about that. Trying to do slow and get good form and good pull. My trainer never had me use more than 30#'s for my good mornings. Says the added weight was pointless. Two different thoughts I guess. Kind of forgot about them. That is why I like reading these forums - remembering old things I used to do and learning new things I need to do. LOL!! Teaching the old dog new tricks.

The stress I was under in April thru June is taking a toll on me now, so it has been hard to keep things going, but I am still after it.

Hang in there with school and working out.

Am I just boring? I don’t seem to be getting the love the other girls are…
Maybe because I don’t have any reasons for people to offer me relationship advice, LOL!

I went out on my walk this evening even though I was feeling incredibly drowsy…I spent the afternoon doing school stuff during the little ones nap instead of taking a nap myself…

I saw a flock of geese, that same woodchuck thing hanging out at the marina, a helicopter running rescue drills, and a couple F18s flying around…exciting, right?

The point is, is that I got out and did it even though I didn’t feel like it…and that is what is going to get me results…

I decided that I want to find a strongman comp to do this time next year…I think it would be an awesome way to celebrate my 30th b-day!!

I’m not really sure what it takes to get “the love” but if you notice you have alot of comments on your journal in comparison w/ the number of views you have, so that is not bad at all.

Good birthday goal!

I think so many of us veterans have left. The iste lost its steam for me when they switched from Muscle with Attitude to Fitness Athlete.

Right now I am sepnding alot of time on the V-Diet forum. I try to check in now and then with people I communicated with before, when I can find them. I just chatted with Amanda. She is doing so great and looks so fantastic. I love her new do.

Have heart, I will try to check on you more often. It is sad how we have all lost each other. I miss Tampa Terry and Chef Lisa Marie dearly.

fitnesslady

PS I think that too to be a an awesome birthday goal. I wished I was closer to come cheer you on.

Thanks Karen and Ronda!

I also hope along the way I can be inspiring to those that are possibly reading but not posting…I know I can’t be the only stay at home mom here working on getting in better shape! It would be nice to have a little comradeship<—(is that even a word?! LOL!) in that aspect

I agree, I miss Terry a lot as well…any chance at all of her coming back? hmmm…

I like my goal too…it’s certainly attainable…but hopefully something will pop up around here, cause from the looks of it there isn’t anything remotely close…Even if there was something in PA I would go!

I made the mistake of leaving my ipod at home today, and it made me realize how much I dislike the sound of old guys grunting…I swear they sounded like they were giving birth…I mean, its cool to let out grunts here and there, but these weren’t just grunts, and it was during every damn rep on every single exercise…ugh!

And I hate when I have my workout all my planned out and can see it in my head and I get there and everything changes because people are hogging MY equipment…(j/k)

But really, I was going to bench today, but had to use dbs instead…I was going to do inverted rows, but did bent over rows instead…you get the picture…

Todays workout
*walked 10min before/after training

3x8x90s rest in between sets

Flat bench db press- 40s
BB rows- 85lbs
DL- 135lbs
RDL-*was gonna do leg curls, but ya…85lbs
Front raises- 15s
Tricep pressdown- 42.5lbs

Hello!
Hope everyone is having a nice weekend…

My walk this evening was nice…it’s finally starting to cool off!! I’m up to 45 minutes now…I’m going to miss it when it starts getting dark early…I’m not very fond of treadmill walking.

Out in the harbor I saw a bunch of sail boats, and one that resembled a Pirate ship, freaking awesome!!
Not looking forward to tomorrows workout…a 2x18 day!
I feel the deads I did yesterday all across my upper back, love that feeling!

PCH has inspired me to look into taking a kung fu class…I used to practice when I was younger, but my mom pulled me out when we moved away…I got up to a yellow belt

But it was something I was good at and really enjoyed, and I need more of that in my life!!
So anyway, I can at least look around…the area we live in sucks, so I have a feeling there won’t be anything closer than 30 minutes away :frowning: But who knows!

Ugh, I’m so tired today :frowning: I think the medicine stopped working. For the past two weeks, I’ve felt that lethargic- I have- to lay down right now feeling all day long thing again…I hate it… :<

Anyway, I managed to get through my workout at least(barely) I think endurance type days are harder than heavy days…

2x15x120s rest in between

Static lunges-bar(I hate lunges, btw)

Hyper extensions- holding 10lb plate-(I wish they had 12,15,20lbs plates, like they do dbs)

Seated military press-25s(up from 20s two weeks ago!)

Inverted row- 9,8,10-ya I know these are supposed to be 15 reps, but Im getting there!

Leg curls-55lbs

Standing calf raise- 135lbs

blah, I need a nap…must be the blueberry pancakes I had after my workout.shhhhhh, don’t tell anyone!! :stuck_out_tongue:

Do you walk alone?

I hope you feel better soon.

yep, I do. My daughter LOATHES the stroller, otherwise I’d go walking in the mornings…

:P[/quote]

Use dumbells then, it is just as easy to hold them with both hands… IMO

I think that is an excellent birthday goal. It beats the hell out of a new pair of shoes and gives you something concrete towards which to work.

Is your 29th coming up shortly?

I feel so old. Now I need to get some love. I don’t get relationship advice either. I’m thinking I need to get a relationship on which to get advice.

I’m glad to hear the inches are coming off and things are moving in a good direction for you.

Use a body bar behind your neck. It increases the lever arm so you don’t need to struggle with that in between weight.

Thanks ladies-

Pch- um, what’s a body bar? A barbell?

O- I had a birthday in August  You are a funny, beautiful, STRONG lady…and it sounds as if you are in a good place in your life and having fun…why complicate that up with a relationship? haha…

I have other goals in mind as well…we want to have at least one more bebe, and I REFUSE to be over weight going into the pg.Plus I have a history of hypertension when I’m pregnant.I’m kind of bummed too cause the plan was to start trying like now…

I had NO IDEA I’d still be struggling to lose weight 17 months ago, sigh Maybe it’s for the best since my daughter is such a needy one…And her tantrums are the BEST! rolls eyes
…plus my hubby is on this lovely list that they choose a couple people at random if they are needed in IRAQ…kind of puts a bump in the plans that way as well…
