They’re the little girly padded barbells, they come in those in between weights. I guess your gym may not have them, but you could always just move whatever weight that’s too light to behind your head.
wow, everybody wrote in there logs this evening, so I thought I would too!
Went on my walk this evening…just a 43 minute walk + 35 pushups!!
See I walk down the street(1/2 mile), where its basically a dead end, but looking out over the bay…I stopped did 15 pushups(2 more than I did about two months ago, which was the last time I did pushups!!)
Then I walk back up the street, and then back down, dropped and did 20 pushups!! I really had to push out the last few, but I thought of PCH threatening to hit me if I didn’t
I think that’s pretty good considering I couldn’t even do 2 decent ones a few months back…
So tomorrow is superset day…I want to deadlift again, and since my brain is fuzzy right now, I was wondering what would be a good antagonist movement? Anyone? Leg curls maybe?
Don’t know if it is right, but I do the front leg curls as you mentioned. On squat days, I do hamstring leg curls. I add leg presses to both days. I keep hoping that if I build the biggest muscle in my body, I will burn more fat. Don’t know if the thought is logical, but it has always been there.
Good for you on the pushups. I start them only to stop them. I don’t keep after them like I should. My shoulders would probably look nicer if I would keep after them. I still only do girly pushups. Have a little trouble being on toes. It hurts the bunions I have developed.
I woke up this morning feeling like I was getting a cold…
Isn’t it weird how you can feel fine one day, and the next your getting sick…
It was one of those days with the baby as well…it seemed she was coming down with something, and was not amused by anything…didn’t even want to go outside to play!
Well, we both took naps and apparently felt better, cause the first thing she did was went to get her shoes
I made it to the gym as well…didn’t really want to but I’m glad I did…It was superset day, and I have no idea how long I was supposed to rest, so I just jumped from one thing to the next and THEN rested between sets…I also got some video, but due to my sorry technical abilities, they are not at very good angles, and only amplify my fat butt…
3x5x120 rest in between two exercises.
BENCH-105(took video to see if it was solid.I think it is…and I hadn’t benched in like two weeks)
BB BENTOVER ROW- 95LBS-(On my second set, a guy approached me and said," you are pretty tall for a girl, have you thought of using a belt?" I said, “Sometimes, but I see so many people OVERusing the belt, that I don’t want to look like a dumbass.”
He was wearing a belt while he was doing bicep curls, so I think it was at this point I stuck my foot in my mouth.
DEADS- 165-(30lbs in a month)
LEG CURLS- 85
HAMMER CURLS- 25s(tried 3 reps of 30s but it wasn’t happening, grrrrrr)
TRICEP OH PRESS- 45lb
TWO sets of PLANKS- 45s each…(that’s +15seconds from about a month ago…those things are HARD!!!)
Well hope you are feeling better. Up your vitamin C to ward off that cold. It will also help your adrenals. They live on Vitamin C and Salt. Being that you are hypo, may bneed to support adrenals also, especially since you work out hard. It stresses the adrenals.
I have been feeling a bit crappy myself, but I think my doc helped me figure it out. I had the crashing fatique again and it was awful. A little hormone tweak and I hope to be feeling better in a few days. Darned old female things anyway.

That’s funny. I’m not sure what being tall has to do with the price of tea in China but it’s still funny.
oh Court, with your sheer stubborn-ness and determination , I’m sure you will surpass that in no time!
I sort of feel like I should be progressing and have been stuck at 105 for awhile.I got up to 110, but it was really sloppy.I’ve gotten higher 1RM’s for the fun of it, but I’m not in the gym to have fun

Where do you find your bench failing? Right at the bottom or about mid-way up?

I’d have to say somewhere between bottom and midway…if that makes any sense, lol…

That is right about where your triceps come into play in the bench press. It’s the same issue I had and I was shocked at how my bench has increased since I started adding more tricep work in.
I personally never felt I got anything out of rope pull downs but I think that is just me cause everyone else seems to do well with them. Add in skull crushers and/or close-grip bench press will help alot too, though don’t do these on hte day your doing your bench press, choose an alternate upper body day.
the hubby has been in some security training, getting him ready to stand watch at the gate if needed…and yesterday was the grand finale where they get pepper sprayed, and had to make there way through this course and eventually take down the big red padded guy!
I guess the point of all that was he didn’t get home til 6,too late to go to the gym, and too rainy to go walking…

Completely lazy day yesterday…

Hey m-i-m, I’m just wondering how your husband handles your new addiction to the weight room. Is he supportive or does he just tolerate it?
I still didn’t check to see if I’m supposed to rest in between exercises… so I do a set of one and straight to another and THEN rest…
Standing db shoulder press-30s!!!(up from 25s 13 days ago!!!)
Upright rows- 20s
Db sumo squat- 70lb db-I think the hardest part was carrying the db to the spot I was working in
Hypers-sucked it up and used the 25lb plate–*oh and thanks Ronda for creating the visual about this piece of equipment, LOL!
Tricep bench dips- WITH FEET ON THE BENCH!!! I don’t know what’s come over me…although the last set I did them with legs bent feet on the floor, but I made up for it with a 25lb db plate in my lap
Front raises- 15s
3x8Flutterkicks-3 count
Side planks-12s each side-thems bithces is hard too!!
Ok, so there is a piece of eye candy that frequents the gym often…I was having very naughty thoughts as I was doing my dips at the same time he was…I know I’m married and I love my hubby to death and all that, but a girl can look right? It doesn’t hurt the motivation either ;> He’s the only dude that trains, that LOOKS like he is training and knows what the fuck he’s doing.
Meh,I must be ovulating…
One more thing…what’s with everyone I see doing things half way…there was a guy doing seated shoulder presses with 70lb dbs, and only lowering them down to his forehead…I mean shit, I can do that!!
And there was actually a girl benching 85lbs which is pretty cool, but only coming down like 4 inches from her chest…
Lastly, I think my shoulders are starting to look decent…It’ll be interesting to see what all my muscles will look like once I’m rid of my layer of squish…
