6 Pack Please

This is not Santas Hotline. Go to the archives, read them for the next five years, and apply all of the essential concepts that are conveyed in the training and nutrition articles to your training. If you do that, and still don’t have a sixpack, come back and ask again.

I just spit 2 pieces of broccoli into my keyboard laughing at that reply.

Hilarious.

you have to remember he is playing hieghschool ball, not high school ball. maybe they don’t need as much mass?

Seriously, I understand the whole “i want a six pack” thing… EVERYONE on here wants a six pack. In time you will learn that a six pack on a guy that weighs (ways?) a buck twenty is not impressive. You’ll get way more ladies if you hit 150, 160 and up if that is your concern.

Man, I was THAT close to just tossing in the ol’ Tube Steak Boogie…but then I thought better about it and decided this youngster needs some sense…

Not to be mean but how on earth can yout think you have enough bulk? Look around this website and check some pics out of bigger guys. I’m 195 and definitely need more bulk.

body fat % is one of the most important things to worry about when trying to get a six pack.

C’mon guys… he could be the most buff 5’4" 123 lb 9th grader in the whole school.

To give you at least one serious answer:

  1. Do heavy, weighted abdominal exersizes for low reps. This will give your abs more definition and cuts.
  2. Diet down to low bodyfat percentage (i.e. less than 10% for males). This will make them visible to all the little girls you’re likely trying to impress.

HOWEVER, at your current height and weight you will probably look rather gaunt to say the least. You will be more likely to be mistaken for a little girl than to impress one.

The answer you are NOT looking for is the one everyone is trying to give you:

  1. Base your workouts on compound, multi-joint lifts.
  2. Stay in the 6-10 rep/set mass-building range.
  3. Minimize rest between sets.
  4. Eat alot but make it clean.
  5. Do minimal cardio (HIIT, or sports)
  6. Sleep way more than you want to.

Good luck & post some pics, workout & food logs, etc. if you want real help from the T-men and Vixens on this board. Most are more than willing to help those who help themselves (kind of like Gods in a way ;-).

Nah-you don’t have enough bulk. Especially for a football player. And I’m not someone who encourages big whale bulks either. But you really need a good solid bulk and to pack on some size. Berardi as said. Any of the lifting programs on this site would be good. But your coaches should have their own lifting plans. If they’re half-way decent you’ll pack on some good mass if you’re eating right.

Yes. As cross coutry captain with 5% bodyfat when we were doing 70 mile endurance buildup weeks with insufficient weight training, I don’t think I ever dropped below 145 at 5’7.

Hey i was just wondering if theres any secrets to a fast six pack im 14 almost 15 and iv tired everything but i can only feel my 6 pack i cant see it help please[/quote]

BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH
Is this for real??!?

I hated to waste my first post on this, but this statement is just ridiculous.

I would be really surprised if this wasn’t a joke. (take a look at the other thread this guy started.)

The incorrect spelling is simply too egregious, and he has those stupid x’s a la the celtic guy.

There is no way of knowing if this is a joke, or not, but there are defiantly kids out there asking this question.

I say:

I know that having a six pack can be a great thing. Makes you look cool in front of your friends, and all the girls whisper about you at the birthday/pool parties, but…what happened to just being a kid.

You are very thin. No one will dispute that. You do need more muscle mass. No one will dispute that. But you don’t need it right now. You’re not even 15 yet. Your bones haven’t even stopped growing.

I’m glad that you’re taking such an interest in exercise though. More kids should, but you need to be focusing on schoolwork.

In my opinion, you are probably neither physically, nor mentally ready to put in the commitment to your training, and diet needed to make the progress that you’re asking about.

As for any advice that you’ve gotten about lifting heavy…FORGET IT!!
You aren’t even 15 yet. If you want to workout, then learn the proper ways to do sit-ups, push-ups, chin-ups, and movements that utilize functional strength.

You’ll build a great base, impress your friends with the amount of pull-ups you can do, and since your body fat is no doubt very low already, you’ll see your abs in no time.

These are my opinions as a personal trainer, and someone who has a brother your age, who I would NEVER suggest lifting heavy weights to.

P.S. Cut out the pop. It’s bad for the gut, and the teeth.
