no problem…
your avatar is hypnotic… and funny.
On a random note, maraudermeat is one bad mutha
The people video taping themselves bench that are assclowns. For the booth, though, the idea is gold.
Honestly, though, I think I could take 100lbs to the chest with minimal injury. Imagine just suicide gripping the bar, and having it slip, then suing for poor spotting. Man, that’d be an American thing to do, huh.
Or, someone lays on the bench, gets a liftoff, then the 100lbs actually pins them down. I’d laugh my ass off.

That was about as real as the Alien Biopsy they did back in the early 90’s. They sure did a pretty good job at pulling it off though.[/quote]
Or as real as those arms on your avatar ![]()

OP, you honestly thought this vid was for real? Just one look at the first guy and I knew it was bogus. If you’ve ever seen pics of guys who can bench that much raw even once you’d know what kind of muscle that feat takes.
Doing it for 23 reps would make him the strongest bencher in the history of raw bench pressing.
For comparison’s sake, here’s a vid of someone who can legitimately bench 585:

exactly!!! but yet we had a thread about someone benching 600x3 that went on forever with people arguing back and forth and i’m sure there are still some out there that think it’s real. my best raw bench has been 540 touch and go at a bodyweight of 285. unless someone has lifted that sort of weight, they have no idea how heavy that is.

I love the block of wood under the bench, and he can still barely get his feet to touch it for leg drive… dude is like some kind of small tank.
Also, Kennelly puts up 405x20ish(2 year old video so maybe tack on a few reps?) and he’s the biggest bencher of all time, adding 185 pounds to that is probably just never going to happen, short of some kind of freak genetic mutation.

You mean Haman? Yeah, I read that thread over at MD where everyone was offering him money to enter a legit bench competition and so far he has said that he plans to compete but is still extremely vague about when or where. Until he does I’m certainly skeptical of that feat. Especially since there is another video of him where he was trying out for American Gladiators and barely got 495 for 2 (which I don’t think was all that long ago).
He also claims to have hit 675 for a single. That means that he’d have added almost 200 lbs to his bench in recent years (at over 40 years old and having suffered multiple pec tears by his own account). That would make him among the greatest raw benchers ever.
I’m not saying it’s impossible. But until he does it in a sanctioned meet I’ll remain skeptical.
