indeed it is raw with bands. it’s called raw benching with bands, unlike the cheater mvlahovic, BPGorilla lifts what he says he lifts.

Excellent lift!
Thanks stallion

I appreciate the vote of confidence.
Yes I do lift and sometimes fail with the numbers I say in the video. It is all just for fun!

Have a great day!

How tall are you?

Oh and that video made me LOL hard. Good work, though.

I feel Rubby is a little benchpress envyous…lol. What a question “How tall are you?” You wonder if he likes long walks on the beach too?

Haha. Great thread comments in addition to a great video. Good job BP, you killed that lift. Make sure to tape 600.

Awesome lifting man, 600 is right around the corner!

That is some amazing weight.
Thanks John S.

I am trying to get my equipped bench up by training reverse bands.
I hope the weight gets even more amazing and closer to 600 as the year progresses!

Have a great day!

One of the best lifting videos I’ve seen. You look like you’re ready to rip a 45lb plate in half with your hands right before each attempt.

One question, what happens if you start the movement Brooks Kubik dinosaur style, from the bottom, with the bar resting on the pins?
Thanks wsk

I really appreciate the nice comment.
I can rip a phone book, but I am not too sure about a 45 lb plate(LOL).
I really appreciate the extremely positive response.
I have never tried reverse band pressing Dinosaur style but that is a definite possibility for the future.
Since I am competitive powerlifter I need to feel the weight in my hands and the federation where I compete requires you to hold the weight for a start command.

Thanks for the question and have a great day!

Rugby_Owns

I am 5 feet 6 inches tall and on good days 5’7
I am glad you enjoyed the video.
The idea is to be entertaining and have some fun lifting.

Have a great day!

you…are…a…freak. I dont care pulling that shit off no spotter, just smoking it…DAMN…and where can you buy those bands because i smoke through 2-3 shirts yearly through gettin ones to train in for my competitions so i dont over use my competition shirts.

I appreciate the comment.
If I get a shot at 600 lbs I WILL have a video of it.
Hope fully in the next year or so.

Have a great day!

Damn dude…you look like you weigh a lot more then 214(thats a compliment). Thats some good shit man.

Nice job and congrats on the PR!

What impressed me more was that you didn’t need a hand off. I’ve seen many bench 400+ lbs but rarely seen anyone unrack it themselves. Not saying that there’s anything wrong with that but just saying that a handoff makes a huge difference.

i too was wondering to myself how tall the guy must be while watching the video, but it had nothing to do with envy. i remembered that his weight was somewhere between 210-220, but thought to myself “damn, he must be kinda short, because he looks thick as hell…”

meaning, to be as bulky/thick as he appeared to be, at 210-220lbs, he couldnt have been too tall, or else with that thickness hed be a lot heavier.

hope that made sense.

great lift. now, do you train primarily for size, or strength? (<<-second part there is a joke!)

I hope to inch closer(5 lbs at a time) to 600 over the next year.
Hopefully it will fall like the walls of Jericho!

Have a great day!

I appreciate the great response.
I purchased my bands at liftinglarge.com

On the reverse bench press I use the #5 Large bands.
The bands are called Woody Bands, they are less expensive than jump stretch bands and do not contain dye, which leads to unraveling.
I have gotten a lot of good workouts from mine.

here is the link to the lftinglarge.com bands page

I appreciate the comment.
Yes you are correct that it takes more effort to unrack the weight alone.
The extra bonus is that during a copetition where you recieve a handoff the weight always feels lighter.

Thanks and have a great day!
