Everyone is ok with that squat depth in the first post? Shit, I may as well total 1800 in my next meet with bullshit lifts like that. I’ll just judge my own lifts and tell the judges which ones passed.
Lol no offense man but 1. This is powerlifting and the hip joint must meet the top of the top of knee. There is no rule that says by how much. I have lifted USPA and SPF and have never been called on depth. If you don’t like then you don’t have to join the race. 2. Thats Sam Byrd spotting me and please excuse me when a WR holder in the Squat in multiple classes says they were ok ill take his word for it. 3. I’m in so much black its practically impossible to even tell where every thing is. And lastly
^^^ Same weight the week before for a single having a shitty off day with a much better angle please tell me thats high. So politely please shut up.
Good thing I don’t compete in the IPF then huh. And while I knowSPF isn’t known for its geared lifting depth being decent their raw lifts are usually pretty fair. Not ipf but hip crease to knee not necessarily passed it. With that the USPA is pretty strict on depth and between Lance Berry and Steve Goggins calling me good in the past ill take that. I don’t train to go atg because it is not required due the feds I compete in so I won’t do it here either. No one is requiring any one to rake part in this. Just thought it would be fun and help motivate some strong guys to push a little harder. So ill with draw from here since my depth is not good enough for the internet.
What the hell, I’ll join. Thought I wasn’t quite good enough to be in this thread but if the IPF nazi patrol is in town anybody can join. Hope to hit at least the deadlift in my meet next july, squat might not make the cut though. So far I have a 435 squat and a 500 dead. Will be competing at 181.
There’s no reason to get pissed about it, I didn’t expect grown men to react like teenage girls to a simple statement. I never belittled anyone, I just said that his depth wasn’t good. Sure, it’s a strong squat, stronger than mine, but the point still stands, it wasn’t to legit depth. How you can make this = pissing all over everyone and this thread, challenge, etc.? I never did. I didn’t want to start an argument and stating something like I did shouldn’t receive the reaction it did.

Yes it does because that depth was fucking by the book perfect

Maybe we should have a “race to the deepest squat” thread where there is no weight on the bar and people just stand on progressively higher platforms.
I am also cool with this idea sounds way safer any way

I saw the 365 Bench Press Race and saw 495 Deadlift Race. But, haven’t seen one for squat period or deadlift relative to bw. Even though I’m not light weight competitor ( less than 198 ) I still find that BW to Weight Lifted to be the most impressive way to compare lifters. With that I’m currently a 220 competitor and am closing in on a 660 squat in wraps and have pulled 600. After I hit that I’d like to focus on doing unwrapped.
So let the race begin.
I see someone has been busy while I’ve been gone. Nice job!

Again, he wasn’t offering the video as proof of achieving the goal, so bringing up depth doesn’t seem relevant. I’m quite sure if he was going to claim a 3x bodyweight squat, he would provide a video from a meet, where his squat received 3 lights in a recognized PL federation. Suggesting that IPF standards are necessary to complete this challenge is something you’ve imposed here, not anyone else.

Sometimes you just have to respect another man’s preference. People can choose whatever fed they want. If you don’t like it, it doesn’t really matter. It’s just personal preference, not a moral issue.
Let’s move on from it because this will be a waste of a thread if we don’t.
@Reed I’m glad you started this challenge…I would suggest you ignore both post from BacktotheBar and Dane Muscle. As a woman I rather get annoyed with men who are keyboard warriors with their panties in a wad.
BacktotheBar didn’t even mention his stats or that he was involved in the challenge, so that should tell you Reed he should definitely be ignored…
Dane Muscle mentioned his stats and that he is 18 so his youth is doing the talking…@Reed you remember how you were when you were 18
Let’s keep the opinions to ourselves unless we are posting progress or reaching the goals stated in the challenge post…everyone focus on getting stronger.

This is why we are friends and I love you cant wait to come down and train with you and Steve after this meet is over. Are you doing the Dec 6 meet for Goggins.
Keyboard warriors? I made a simple statement, the other guys started.bitching. What are you talking about? Youth talking? Im drug free and 18 years old and i put up numbers in the bench and deadlift very near a DRUGGED senior lifter whos been training for much longer than me, and i get pissed all over because of one comment? i wont compete with your halfsquat but ill surpass you in the bench and deadlift, natural and raw.
