I picked up a 1976 Stratocaster not that long ago, Made in Japan, All original parts outside the pickguard (you can still see the rust on the screws). It took awhile to trace back the origin of it but I finally found it through an old vintage catalog.

These things go for 1500-2000$, at least, it was the only listing I could find, and I got it for like 700. Itā€™s a shame that people donā€™t see the ā€œMade In Americaā€ Print and immediately assume a guitar is shit. This thing wouldā€™ve been hand made by a Japanese Luthier.

This year has been very difficult. Dealing with my momā€™s health issues and eventual passing just before Thanksgiving has left me in ā€œsurvival modeā€.

Main goal for the new year is to find the OLD me. The disciplined me. The me that would go knock the ice off the barbell and put the work in. I feel if I can get that back the other goals will fall into place.

A more specific goal is the build a chicken tractor. Those little bastards need to earn their keep! I want them to clean up my garden so the goal of planting my garden happens. Oh wait! Thatā€™s after the goal of putting up an electric fence. Shit! Iā€™m already screwed up :rofl:

I agree. Nothing wrong with guitars made overseas. I think the build quality is great. Some of the manufacturers build their cheaper lines so they use lesser electronics but that has nothing to do with the build itself.
