I’m surprised Phil dominated in the lower body department. It really seems as if Kai’s legs have shrunk.
I agree with what others have said. Phil’s speech was long-winded for sure. If Kai had won he would have had more interesting things to say and would have said it in half the time.
In regards to a lot of people dissing Phil’s speech - I don’t agree. Having worked out around him for a while, I heard quite a few conversations he’d have with people. He was really personable with almost every gym-goer that I saw, and I frequently saw him talking about others just as much as himself.
He seemed really down-to-Earth, and that gym is a really tight-knit place. Why would he put on a spectacle? I guess I don’t understand why there’s so much animosity towards his speech.
(For the record, I’ve heard the same criticism elsewhere so I apologize that I’m circumventing my frustration here. Definitely a little surprised to see Buff’d hating, haha.)

Hatin’? Nah my man, just a reactionary response after watching alot of the videos and pics. Phil deserved this…he was in shape, was harder, and in many many poses looks awesome. Other than his pecs (they are full and dense…but the shape looks really funny to me in comparison to the rest of him…its like they are not integrated quite right in some views), Phil has one of the most pleasing physiques around. Those delts are arms are the best in the business…bar none.
I just became more and more impressed with Kai as the competition went on. And the way he gracefully acted and carried himself…his composure. His physique spoke for itself this weekend. As I mentioned, I never liked Kai…I didn’t like his physique that much or…the “other” stuff. But this competition changed my thinking.
Kai needs to come in a bit bigger but with the same level of conditioning and he’ll win. Phil is perfect as is so all he has to do is make sure he brings what he’s brought in 2011 and just recently in future Olympias. The whole “they’re all gunning for me” is probably a little over played but it does have some credence in the fact the pressure is on the other guys to bring something different to what Phil has.
I like how we’re seeing a little bit of a rivalry develop between Phil and Kai. Phil has Kai beat genetically but Kai is an enigma - you never know what you’re going to get from him. For Kai and his fans, lets hope it’s a good surprise in 2013.
I agree w buffd for the most part. Giving kai the stink eye and his general attitude made him less likeable in my view. Just havent seen that from him before. This was his first O as the top dog so maybe he was probably trying to show he was number one and no one was going to take it away. I guess it worked being that he won by one point. Kai came off as the more humble guy for sure. I think this olympia really showed that phil cant cruise to a string of victories. If he is not 100% hell lose, or should lose.

Don’t change that, Cy. It’s what makes you extremely entertaining around here.
I am very glad that Rhoden got third. Personally I didn’t really know anything about him until the olympia, but he really does have a great physique. I’m glad these more aesthetic guys are dominating lately.
That said, am I the only one who finds Rhoden’s face a little creepy? He always has that weird grin going on, kind of unsettling to me for some reason. Am I the only one?
Rhoden blew up since his NPC days. He must have gained a good 40lbs of muscle or more since I first saw him there…and that was after already being swole.
Wow great vid. Heath clearly stepping forward to gain an advantage. Hard to say whether it had a part in the decision, but it certainly shows phil was worried. I dont know if i would call it cheating, but definitely trying to gain an advantage.Thats something i didnt notice watching the webcast.
In my mind the stepping forward hurt heath more than it helped. Shows insecurity and lack of confidence that he was number one. However, kai looked like a guy that would accept 2nd place at times. Again no one really knows how much of a factor these things are.
also regarding the above vid…a big fuck you to those who think phil and kai are close to the same size…kai dwarfs him.
i take back all the humble shit. fuck phil health…kai won he is absolutely better, absolutely. again to reiterate the point fuck you phil.
not only is kai better, but he’s smarter, kinder, stronger, is just a flat out better bodybuilder, better poser, better human being…and lastly…kai is magic, like wizard type magic, sorcery…not top hat gay ass david copperfield jay cutler type magic.
wait…phil is magic…he pulled the O right out of his ASS!!!
smaller kai is still way bigger than full phil…hahaha
