I think Cedric is talking about Kai quote from his fb page “u keep saying his name along with everybody else, not me. u and everybody else… well not everybody but some people keep thinkin im talkin about him (some think Kai if u read) shit i didnt meet Phil til the 2011 Arnold Classic… come on dog[.]”

i didn’t read it, truth…don’t care too.
phil is ok in my book, he looked very good last night.
not surprising if folks were/are talking smack about kai…he’s not for everyone. gym life is all around us, we gravitate and interact w/ certain folks based on US mainly, what we’re comfortable w/, what we find agreeable.
i write like a d-bag on here at times, overall i’m myself but perhaps sometimes i am a personification of something i conjure up, skating between self-amusement and being real.
it’s funny reading comments around a few forums how folks get sooo pissed (seemingly myself included) e.g. KAI GOT ROBBED!!!
if how kai vs phil compared last night decided the show…then…KAI won. based on individual posing routines…KAI won.
but it was 50/50 day one and two and posing round isn’t scored. Phil won last night, he looked better in the side by side. he was fuller, acted like a champ (be it a bit douche-like), kai was likely more crisp last night, even more detailed, but as mentioned his color was light, no shine, he didn’t “come off” like he did in day one’s posing. Eyes were on Phil.
Phil won.
As to those who think Phil was better last year and had he come in like in 2011 it would have been a shut out (Flex Wheeler got paied to say this garbage), that is just wrong.
Phil looked about the same as last year, he just doesn’t look as amazing standing next two Kai as he did next Jay. that is because kai and phil were a lot closer than the race between cutler and phil. [/quote]
I agree with this. I couldnt believe how close it was. There is no way Jay pushed Phil as hard as Kai did. I think it was cool that Phil mentioned Kai’s name during his acceptance speech. Phil has the most fullness in his arms but at times it looked as Kai’s out measured his. His peaks were just crazy!
I can’t believe Branch placed in the top 5. Perhaps he beat Wolf because of his bigger calves?
This was a super close contest. It could have gone to Kai or Phil. Same with Henry vs. Lewis. Dave Henry’s upper body and arms are almost the very best I have ever seen.
Branch shouldn’t have been in the top 7.
I probably missed the explanation, but what was wrong with wolf’s left calf? Wasn’t like that before… Rhoden made a huge surprise yesternight, congrats to him!
Bodybuilding fans are the worst in the world. Wasn’t Branch Warren the fan favorite just a few years ago? Now everyone hates him.

Don’t bother. I’ve learned in the last month that Branch has the WORST, UGLIEST, BLOCKIEST and MOST UNAESTHETIC physique in the HISTORY OF BODYBUILDING OMGOMGOMG and should be STAKED TO A POST AND PELTED WITH ROCKS for it.

I rolled my eyes so hard they almost fell out of their sockets during that speech.

Quoted for Truth!
I really do not understand how anyone can be a branch fan. He is blocky, he is unaesthetic, his legs are huge but far overshadow the rest of his body, he diets down and looks like his skin has bits of cottage cheese particles under it, he has the Tombstone Wyatt Earp mustache!
He’s also a trash talking piece of shit and rectifies it all by calling on the name of GOD! JEEEEYYZUSSS!!
Branch Fans, Gimme a break

Yeah, the whole dropping to the floor and crying is borderline acceptable after the first O win, but after that it is a little much for me. I stopped watching halfway through.
I can see why everyone was saying it was close after prejudging but during finals Phil rolled over Kai imo…
I am not sure how accurate this is but apparently Heath unanimously won the pre judging which if that is the case shows what BS this whole show was.
Phil has Kai in the MM but Kai has every other pose in particular FDB which Heath should completely own as his USP is his arms - Kai’s biceps look unbelievable and totally blow Heath away.
Heath is being made to be the next Ronnie Arnold Dorian already and people talking about his “legacy” - the guy is no way near any of those guys imo and never will be he does not have a single GOAT level pose not one.

Its funny how subjective this sport is, I really dont see the same thing you do.
In the finals im not even sure I have Kai winning a single pose, maybe the front lats
Sure Kai peak was more pronounced than Heath’s but look at the difference between these guys arm definition when they hit their FDB

My feelings exactly.
Also, I think it’s way too early to talk Heath’s legacy as well. He was the best guy onstage in 2011 and in 2012, but comparing him to Yates or Coleman,… I’m not convinced yet. Heath won, but Dorian and Ronnie dominated.

I agree, not mention Coleman came in 50-60lbs heavier than phil
After watching the finals, IMO Kai had him in every back pose just cause his lats size dominates Phils and his lower body is better in almost every aspect except in the rear lat spread in which he didn’t keep his glutes tight. Kais traps are definitely holding him back from getting that Ronnie Colemanish back, but I guess his rear poses are unique in its own way. His lats are so big I don’t know if bigger traps would even look right on him lol
But from the front Phils upper body just dominated Kai in terms of lines, aesthetics, roundness, and looked much better stood ‘relaxed’. I had Kai ahead in the prejudging but Phil deserves the title over the 2 nights.
So happy with Rodens placing as well as Dexter since i’m pretty sure we all wrote him off.

The Phil Heath homerism displayed by the announcers was sickening.
I thought Phil was in better condition; Kai looked not as hard or dense in the comparison. But Kai’s size and sweep overwhelm Phil in many of the poses. If Kai can maintain this new streamlined look and couple it with more hardness, he wins hands down in my humble opinion.
I am not a Kai fan…never had been. But the way he looked at this Olympia, I have turned a new leaf. I didn’t like Phil’s attitude either…during the posedown or his crybaby speech afterwards. It looks like the battle is set for next year…and I’m incredulous to find myself saying this…but I am now firmly TEAM KAI. The only caveot is if McMillan or Rhoden have a chance, then I’m firmly in those camps!
And Dex looked fantastic. Still don’t believe Branch is placing as high as he still is.

i suppose it was heart-felt in a sense that he started to cry a bit, considering that he’s from CO it makes sense but i sorta see how he used it to create a heart-string to tug on.
Fuck…Kai was winning the damn thing right up until the final comparisons, he folded and faded some as Phil got all “fake” tough and shit, he DID pose like each shot his life was on the line…it was too because Kai had him beat.
Phil looked pretty damn good in his posing @ the end, shoulders and roundness was scary!!!
I keep harping/writing…to me i love this more than baseball, basketball…etc., this is the shit I like, I’ve loved BB since I was a kid. Doing my ladies prep which folded at the last minute to doing prep work for a few guys here in ATL. I just love it all! my 6 foot ass isn’t big enough to ever feel good about dieting down for a show, i’m content to train hard, help others maximize their training, and help w/ diet stuff when i can.
the re-cast of the posing routines is up FINALLY. when it goes to youtube i’ll post them here.
i still think Kai can be better, i still believe a 100% beats Phil…not this year though, knocking but didn’t happen. Palumbo made a point about Kai almost not being ready mentally to win. Sure some of that is all voodoo hogwash but Phil treated the ending of the O like 4th quarter, do or die shit.
Kai a bit fuller but as conditioned w/ a tad better color/oil and confidence like he had night one as he KNEW he was beating Phil down…if he kept it i would have won.
Phil’s posing routine is fierce w/ some holy shit poses. Kai’s routine is fucking amazing, he almost pops like in the old dirty diana posing routine he did but even bigger. I think he can be fuller and just as diced or more so…
go watch em’ if you can again…awesome. i’ll post them when they’re on youtube.
Also documentary looks good i’ll post it
****also i agree that the bodybuildingdotcom staff announcers, the old fat fuck from md, and bob cuntarillo should all be lit on fire and drawn and quartered. lopsidedness/non-objectivity was stupefying.
i’m a kai fan and i’m man enough to say phil beat him at the end, those dicks needed to say man fuck phil is losing…lets see if he can pull it together, they tried to pass it off as if he was winning all along.
man for those who think phil was winning all along, had this shit locked…i’m fucking glad i’m not you. walking around w/ that type of little, non-discerning, simple mind would be a fucking nightmare. well…ignorance is bliss they say. those folks are likely the same folks buying all the bullshit supplements as well!
