Has anyone read Ced’s response on Facebook?
I think about it.
Kai is the face of bodybuilding without a sandow. His documentaries have made him the most recognable bodybuilder of them all right?
Dudes in my schools rec center know about dais day in the life bids…and all his others. They don’t know shit about Phil…
Even look confused when you say Phil is the best in the world…Phil who?
What do you all think about that? Does the face of bodybuilding need an O win?
Id no doubt put Kai ahead of Phil in polarity.
How big is the political factor in these decisions? Do you guys think Phil Heath’s marketability to non-BB fans helped him win?

If he’s basing his opinion on one encounter, I’d pay it no heed. Personally I’ve never met Phil, but it seems like the majority of folks who have come away with a positive impression of the man.

Yup, I know he didn’t have what it took to win, but damn the best physique up there.

May I ask what was said?
EDIT ::: Nvm, saw it. I could see it going either way. A top-level BB’er probably needs some dimension of ego to be that successful. Who knows.

I think he’s talking about Kai, not Phil
Dante posted a lot 1-2 years ago about how Kai wasnt the guy that you see on camera
Ive seen this said from a couple of guys that are “close” to the pros
regarding the above banter about ced, and how phil comes off…
1st of, Phil looked big and full and wow last night in the side by side. Kai was sharper, particularly during the solo posing routine. Kai’s color and oil from night one to night two were different. subtle but he looked better harder and w/ more shine IMHO.
it was close, i just like kai better…through a lot of it KAI looked like mr. olympia 2012. Phil beat him, phil did look like a monster last night.
addressing the personality, likability thing…
Phil’s speech last night, very heartfelt. Phil is the type of dude you want to get a pizza with and ride around the escalade with, play video games with and go…wow dude, you’re awesome, how big are your arms?
Kai is a david bowie voodo and spiders guy, sometimes pretty damn cool and funny, sometimes odd. Kai leaves you wanting to push harder, drive harder in your own life. He is an amazing artist, thinker, he’s like Yoda. He’s been lifting weights, learning…for well over two decades.
find and watch the post olympia interviews, their very different personalities come out. Granted Phil is pumped about winning, whereby Kai is being asked questions while internalizing a year’s work to come soooo close to the O.
both men have tremendous drive – they share w/ us in different ways, that is all.
what kai says about finding the gorilla in your life is pretty damn awesome.
Do guys just go to the gym to lift because it’s something to do??? I lift to have balance, to learn about myself, to push against something, for release, for euphoria, for the pain of it all. it’s what makes me feel most alive.

For whatever it’s worth, if you read into the comments a little deeper (on said Ced post,) it appears that he’s indefinitely talking about Kai. The dates of when Ced met Heath don’t match up to the smack that’s being talked.
I also had a convo with zraw mentioning that Dante + some of that crew was talking pretty mad trash about Kai for certain things.
Again, FWIW.
I think Kai deserved the win.
Rhoden did well but he is in reality very far behind actually challenging Phil for the title. He is lacking alot of size in comparison, I think Cedric is more of a threat.
But to be honest it is an awful lot to say those two or anyone else will get on stage in similar condition to Kai and actually BEAT Phil.
I think Phil has the O for at least a further 5 years - the champ is never knocked off his perch in this sport, and again it is a monumental leap of faith to say Rhoden or Ced will bring a significantly better package than what got Kai 2nd this weekend.
Regarding their personalities, I can definitely see some of Kai’s Mr Humble being contrived, but even more so in Heath’s case - I think he is pretty arrogant (in a negative way) and considers himself too much to be the Golden Boy dating back to years ago when he became Cutler’s buddy. I don’t think he came across well post contest either with the ‘I was always going to win’ yada yada “champion’s” talk.

Nope. I agree.
Then again Henry’s been a fave of mine for years.

I agree. This guy completely surprised me at the prejudging. A return to a classic physique, with all the freaky size necessary.
Kai looked effin awesome… EXCEPT standing relaxed. His shoulders flatten out up top (traps virtually disappear), while everyone else’s stood up
. I would say traps are his only weak point in that regard.
i didn’t read it, truth…don’t care too.
phil is ok in my book, he looked very good last night.
not surprising if folks were/are talking smack about kai…he’s not for everyone. gym life is all around us, we gravitate and interact w/ certain folks based on US mainly, what we’re comfortable w/, what we find agreeable.
i write like a d-bag on here at times, overall i’m myself but perhaps sometimes i am a personification of something i conjure up, skating between self-amusement and being real.
it’s funny reading comments around a few forums how folks get sooo pissed (seemingly myself included) e.g. KAI GOT ROBBED!!!
if how kai vs phil compared last night decided the show…then…KAI won. based on individual posing routines…KAI won.
but it was 50/50 day one and two and posing round isn’t scored. Phil won last night, he looked better in the side by side. he was fuller, acted like a champ (be it a bit douche-like), kai was likely more crisp last night, even more detailed, but as mentioned his color was light, no shine, he didn’t “come off” like he did in day one’s posing. Eyes were on Phil.
Phil won.
As to those who think Phil was better last year and had he come in like in 2011 it would have been a shut out (Flex Wheeler got paied to say this garbage), that is just wrong.
Phil looked about the same as last year, he just doesn’t look as amazing standing next two Kai as he did next Jay. that is because kai and phil were a lot closer than the race between cutler and phil.

I said it before, had they given it to Rhoden I would not have mind. Beautiful physique.

I think this is where Kai lost it too. When standing Heath has a certain look to him that blows you away. very cartoonish. You CANNOT relax around him, I think. But again, I have to eat my words about Kai and give due respect. He looked fantastic.

I like Flex, but DH’s back is far superior and his whole upper body in general really. Flex’s calves are too big.

lol Branch over Wolf? Bullshit.[/quote]
I did not have Branch in the top 8…and I have been an Branch fan for a long time. And yes, I know, I love the classic physique more then anything, but I always thought his body had ‘something’. He has completely ruined his physique this past year…
But there is something ‘off’ about Wolf too. The guy simply does not look ‘healthy’ on stage. Belly was a bit out there as well.
Freeman looked really good, I thought. Could have seen him higher placed and be OK with that.

I actually think in that pose Kai is pushing his shoulders together and that is why his traps are so flat.
Phil’s arms and shoulders make him look too narrow in that pose in my view.
Personally, I think front relaxed was Kai’s 2nd best pose behind FDB.
I really don’t like the “cartoonish” aspect of Phil’s physique, he lacks density and any graininess - IMO he just has an extremely drugged up look that in many poses is not that attractive.
Just my opinion.
The guys speaking and commenting… I bet they sucked Phil’s dick after that… those politics and all the cocksucking its disgusting. Kai is the winner of the show, Kai is the winner of the people. “The gift” at the pre- judjing almost cried because he also knew how good Kai is this year. fuck em
