2010 Mr Olympia

Yeah, I know. They’ve got the figure and ms. Olympia but no 202?! Blasphemy!

I think you guys saying jay has lost it are crazy. It’s going to really really really close between him and phil. Jay has been the number 1 or 2 bodybuilder in the world for the past 9 years. And he looks better this year than he has in most of the previous 8 years. He’s not slipping to 5 or something crazy like that.

Iris Kyle may place ahead of Kai at this point.

And after looking at the pics further and predicting what will happen tonight here’s my take

Jay - after filling out more for tonights show
Phil
Branch
Dexter
Victor
Rockel
Kai
Wolf
Roelly
Dennis James

And Paco Bautista needs to go away.

Dexter = perfection in this photo.
But each of these guys has some really strong points as well.
My opinion: Dexter just has everything here. Other photos indicate that to me as well.
Branch, Phil, and Dex look interchangeable in that top 3. Jay has lost it. and Kai plained sucked.
I don’t think Jay “lost it,” he was very conditioned and brought the fucking size. Structurally he looks better than Branch even if Branch was more shredded and he just out muscles Dex, but Phil, damn he brought it this year. May the best man win, and Phil seems to be that guy, so good job Phil!

Wtf with this nonsense Vic before Jay

Because Vic looks like a bodybuilder, and Jay looks like a Boxcar. lol.

I think people are still drunk off of Jay’s 2009 condition, which he fucking pwned for sure, but last night was the return of his blocky ugly self. I can see Branch doing well for crazy conditioning, even though he isn’t pretty, but Jay? Dude was off his 2009 form and has an ugly build.

If Jay didn’t win last year, I bet he wouldn’t be in anyone’s top 3 right now. He just… doesn’t have it, IMO.

Maybe I’m dick riding Phil here, but fuck that. I’m one of like 4 Dexter fans. I prefer look to size at the expense of “pretty”.
If youre going to make contest to contest comparisons it’s not a good idea to rally behind dexter. He’s regressed since last years O. He looked better at 09 O than he did at '10 Arnold and '10 O. He isnt bigger this year and his conditioning isnt as good as it usually is. The Olympia is the place for the freaks to show off their ‘freak-factor’. Dexter has no freakiness.
Fair enough.

I’ll be Butthurt if Jay wins for sure, Branch on teh other hand, I wouldn’t mind for some reason. But would prefer Dex or Phil to take it home. At least that would be my lineup at the moment.

Watching the stream last night, and looking at the photos this morning, I am struck again how the pictures simply don’t capture the awesomeness or differences in conditioning as seen in the video.
Agreed with this. The pictures are not the same as the video… which I’m sure is not the same as being there in person. We make our comments based on a different view point than the actual judges have so people must keep that in mind(they won’t).

For what it’s worth based on what I saw last night I would put it

 1. Phil Heath
 2. Branch Warren
 3. Jay Cutler
 4. Dexter Jackson
 5. Ronnie Rockel
 6. Dennis Wolf

Kai Greene at 7 or 8 flip flopped with Victor Martinez

As another posted suggested Ed Nunn had a good showing and looks to be promising for the future with his shape. I was disappointed with Roelly who looked like a shadow of himself leading up to the show.

He’s never going to win a US show with his look but I’m always blown away by how Paco looks, he’s freaky huge and conditioned every time but my gosh is it ugly lol

Bonez may be right on Jay. It will be the closest O in years.

Jay still totally beats Phil from the waist down. I dont think Phil has the nicest quads, and I think his hams were slightly better at the arnold.

^shit.

damn.

I wish Phil would win, but I don’t think anyone is good enough to beat Jay yet. I’d give him another year or two of supremacy.

I’m a big fan of bot Jay and Phil,… and honestly don’t think Phil has ever looked better (good, b/c he should have beaten Kai the last couple of times Kai was ‘given’ contests… '10 Arnold anyone?), but as amazing as Phil does indeed look, in certain shots Jay is still much much Larger overall, and it’s damn hard to ignore that when Both guys are sporting amazing detail all over. I forgot who said this on some video, but the whole ‘you have to knock the champ out’ theory… as amazing as Phil does, he puts up a good fight, but will not edge Jay out… this year anyway.

Phil needs bigger legs to beat jay.

Jay - 1
Phil - 2

Definitely.

Yeah, I fear you are right, although I am keeping my fingers crossed. There are several poses where Phil beats Jay and it all depends on how they both look tonight. Cutler has proven before that he can considerably harden up for Saturday night and that might do it. No way he will be 3rd. The battle for 1st and 2nd is between Jay and Phil.
Branch might pull of the upset over Dexter. His lines have improved, maybe not by too much bus he is better then last year, but then again so is Dexter. Very tough call. The way Branch stalks the stage might scare the judges enough though to give him 3rd

Rockel looks great and I think he can beat Dexter in the years to come. He is approaching the same lines but is more dense and ‘crisp’. Excellent conditioning.
Wolf is number 6. Bit too weak in the lower lat and glute area. Glad he is back to his A game though. Comic book body.

No way Vic or Kai are in the top 6.

Damn, tough job this year for the judges.
I think they will end up doing this:

 1. Cutler
 2. Heath
 3. Warren
 4. Jackson
 5. Rockel
 6. Wolf

personally i would like to see:

 1. Heath
 2. Warren
 3. Cutler
 4. Rockel
 5. Wolf
 6. Jackson (I know, I know…)

Going to be a good night!

Over the top love for Jay here…

Anybody know what time the beasts get going tonight?

Based on those pics do you honestly think the judges will not have him RETAIN the title?

despite my blanket of sadness, with which i have now wrapped myself in, i am going to hit the gym and then come home and enjoy the posing routines.

i always seemed to laugh, enjoy, be amused by fans being butt hurt when “their” teams lost, i’d think…do you play for the red sox? no. then why the fuck to you care that much??? i think i let myself watch too many youtube clips, as if i had some fucking connection to someone’s success, vicarious enjoyment. rooting for kai was to me much like how it felt as a kid when i watched magic, scott, worthy, kareem, and a.c. (and coop), for a little while out of my day i enjoyed being an awestruck kid._

that being said, had kai nailed it, i would have been one of those USA USA USA type guys, annoying i know. either way crow isn’t a bad protein source so i’m digging in.

Narrow Olympian. Square Olympian. i choose the narrow guy w/ the jacked up chest, not the blocky fucker. the lesser of two evils i suppose.

Lanky Mofo- Does he not deserve it?

In all honestly, Phil looks better in the pics, albeit a bit smaller.

Jay looks great, but he just didn’t have the same WOW factor phil had, and like he did last year.

I don’t know, maybe I’m fucking retarted.
bking wrote:
^Does he not deserve it?
i think Phil deserves the win, absolutely. as mentioned jay has been 1 or 2 for a decade nearly, and he’s not off or bad by per se, in fact despite not being as good as last yr, he’s still improved over previous yrs prior to 09.

what phil has done in his short career, the guy was a college basketball player for christ sake, is amazing…he deserves praise.

Arnold, Lee, Dorian, Ronnie…phil and jay are not on their level relatively speaking. i thought this yr we’d have a WOW holy shit type of physique on stage, it didn’t happen.

keeping perspective, all these guys are fucking bananas, i’d like shit and die if anyone w/ their level of muscularity were in my gym, i’m just stating phil and/or jay are not on the level of the previous greats. i think kai could be if he ever presents a package like the conditioning of his colorado show w/ the size he has now.

if if if is a fairtale world though, until he does it, it’s just a grapefruit dream.

that being said, Phil should win mr. O 2010.

Jay looks off…and blocky
