Right when Jay says something, it’s boring and tedious. If only he were to discuss the existential quandary, I mean really our universe is so broad and the limitations of the human mind are expanding faster then the farthest nebula, it’s almost mind boggling where we will be in the next 10 years and as… wait what? Do I like leg curls for hamstrings?
Way as for your question, you see Kai came up from nothing and unfortunately it was too difficult for him to get a real job, so he had to resort to making love to grapefruit and doing all sorts of other G4P. Which is totally inspirational and great for bbing, I mean would you rather have some weird dude with a brohawk representing the sport or a man that knows no bounds between the matrix of love of fruits and humanity, a connoisseur of many fancy attires and not only that, but he poses like an exotic dancer as well!! The choice is obvious, this 24/25th VOTE GRAPEFRUIT!

Excellent post
Jay has great presence on stage, and he seems quite good at public speaking to me. Not quite sure why any of that matters though, because bodybuilding won’t be mainstream regardless of who wins the O.

LOL.
Jay Cutler’s lifestyle is “eat, sleep, eat, eat, sleep, read fan mail, eat, eat, eat, sleep, tan, pedicure, sleep, lift weights”. If you want to argue someone as a representative, pic David Henry. The man is Air Force and carries himself well in public. How is the ultra-pretty boy a massive step up from an exotic dancer? They both wear thongs and many in the general public think they are damn near the same anyway.

Mainstream? No…
But I do think they would like another Arnold. (Not that any of these guys is another Arnold.) So until that time, they need to worry about selling tubs of protein. And Ronnie from Jersey Shore & his buddies are buying the shit just as much as anyone else. That is who Jay appeals too. I mean, watch teh show. If you get laid and look jacked, you don’t need to speak at all really… lol
Kai is a space shot, and very interesting. I don’t consider him “intelligent” when he talks. Sort of the classic “try and sound smarter than I am” type. BUT that is all part of the appeal. His passion is what gets me, it is addictive and plain old fucking awesome. As far as his off the stage stuff:
I think it divides the fan base. You will have some people that will hate him and put him down for it. And then others that will disregard it. I do think it will factor into the judges scoring to a degree though. Should it? Probably not, but this is the Olympia. And this guy isn’t going to relinquish his title once he wins it. He is way too focused and determined to fuck up. So… they know if they give him the win, he will most likely have a couple year run.
Now maybe I’m wrong about the fan base, but I think it might alienate the “I hate Kai for his off the stage activities” fans. Or maybe it just causes discussion and gets people more into it. Who knows really.
Maybe the judges don’t give a shit about the off stage stuff other than who the athlete is sponsored by… Maybe they don’t even give a shit about that…
I look forward to O weekend for sure whoever wins. We should see some good showings.

Jay is a step up, his waist isn’t as bloated, he speaks with meaning versus Kai who I feel force feeds us his “philosophical” dribble and really I wouldn’t mind it at all if he actually took time and answered questions in a straight forward manner. You might not like Jay because he isn’t “interesting,” but Kai is the exact opposite, someone who is extremely eccentric. Overall Jay is just more appealing then Kai for said reasons, now does it mean I want him to win the O? Well over Kai, yes, however if I had my way Ced would be winning it. Cedric would be a way better representative of the sport then both of those guys, in terms of aesthetics, personality while still maintaining a down to earth persona.
Thanks for the video, Scott.

I thought that he spoke pretty well. Thats the first time I’ve heard in (or any bodybuilder I think) interviewed by a non-weightlifting media source. I thought he did a good job for himself on the show. The guy interviewing also seemed genuinely interested which was nice. “we got tickets to the gun show” haha

The best part is how the female reporter goes ape crap when he does the front double bi. Classic
lol jay was cool and pretty humble IMHO in that video. He’s probably just nervous on camera in the other interviews as everyone else is the first couple times.

He is un-engaging. He is fairly monotone with very little facial expressions. It isn’t so much what you say in the public eye but how you get that point across. The average person watching that has no clue what his specific body fat percentage even means. They are looking at him to see if he looks approachable or if he is upholding the same “psychopath” label everyone with muscles is being boxed as lately.

Seriously? To “normal” people Jay will sound like a down to earth man that can explain is point clearly AND consisely.
Kai, ur idol, will sound like a lunatic.
Btw, how is Kai’s life so different from Jay’s? What’s he doing more than eat eat train eat sleep eat eat train?

Yeah I think if you’re going to take past off stage behavior into account, a pretty boy would be a step up. Just like any other sport, what you do off stage is going to affect your image and possibly reflect on the sport itself. I’m not saying a pretty boy is the best representative of the sport, but I do think it’s a step up.
