2009 NGA Pro Universe, American International & Florida Natural Champs

2009 NGA Pro Universe, American International (Pro Qualifier) and Florida Natural Championships, Coral Springs, FL, November 7, 2009

Long time NGA show promoters, Fran and Andrew Bostinto, welcomed 78 outstanding men and women athletes to the stage for what is billed as the NGA National Show. Andrew is president and founder of the National Gym Association (NGA) and schedules his show near the end of the year so qualified athletes from earlier NGA shows around the country can gather in Florida for one last chance to step it up to compete before the Holidays.

Every class was competitive and hotly contested by both amateur and professional athletes. A packed house of enthusiastic fans cheered each class as they competed for their trophies. At the end of the evening, three NGA Pro Cards were awarded to the Overall Open Figure Champion and the Overall Open and Masters Bodybuilding Champions.

Pics would be cool. I always like looking through the natty contest pics in the mags and comparing myself to the various class winners, seeing how I stack up

As soon as the shots are posted by the photographer on his site, I will secure a few of them and post them here. Or, I will just post the web address for the show photos and you can look for yourself.

Hello everyone, my name is Paul Revelia. I found this thread so I thought I would update with some information. I have not recieved any pictures from the show photographer yet but I had a very good photographer with me who got some nice shots. Here are a few pictures of me leading up to and the day of the contest. I am 6’3" and weighed in at 203 and turned 34 years old last month. Layne Norton does my contest diet and prep work. This was my second competition. I won the Novice class of the 2008 Mid Florida Muscle Classic in Orlando, Fl where I currently reside. Thanks to Old Navy for doing a wonderful job being the emcee and making the night more personal for all of us.

Wow, great conditioning, and a seriously impressive V-Taper, especially in that back shot!

Steve…everyone told me all day that if I made the overall you were the guy to worry about. Keep up the great work and get your card next time you step on stage. I have some pictures from the overall coming my way. PM me your email and I will send you everything I get. I only have a few so far but they are good and show how close it was in the end!

I live in Orlando so if you are ever up this way look me up we can get a workout in together…find me on bodyspace as well, fltallpaul. Great job again!

Thanks Stu…23 week diet for the conditioning, lots of lat work for the back and god gave me a tiny waist…gotta use what you got!

Paul - That’s funny. You had given me info on RXforum about a comp. But yeah man. My buddy Jeff pointed you out. He’s like that’s the guy if I make it to the overall. Man and sure enough you were the guy. Your conditioning was solid. I got a video of us in the overall. I know things I have to work on and trust me I will bring them up. Keep crushing it. I’ll keep in touch and you do the same. Always good to know who I got to worry about in future comps.

23 week diet? HAH! Fuck that. Props for sticking that out man, congrats on the pro card.

Wow Paul. Very impressive man. Your dedication is really motivating to me. Today’s my off day, but damn I wanna hit the gym and grind out another session now. Keep up the good work.

Sticking it out is not the hard part. I wanted to win and new what I had to do to. I am sure many others choose to compete after 12-16 weeks and then claim to hold water. Getting truly lean takes time and patience if you want to retain the muscle. I was still not as lean as I wanted to be but with each prep I will learn more and more. Thank you though…its been an interesting journey.
