2 Years Training at 16, Still Growing

I’ve been lifting the last couple years and I went from 6’2 at 130 lbs to 6’2 155 lbs, I’ve really bulked up lately and I’m thinking about starting a new training routine.

I was thinking a 5x5 program.

I know you are probably going to say just eat, but I already do that, I’m getting between 2000 and 2500 Kcal per day.

Lifts: bench 115x5, squat 175x3, military pres 85x3

I need to work on biceps and shoulders espeically i think.

What a coincidence, that’s about what I’m eating to diet down. Up your intake, enjoy that 5x5, the strength based work will help you a lot. Come back in 6 months to a year when you’ve gained some more weight, you still don’t have much muscle mass, but at least you know you need to keep growing, unlike the “OMG, I’m 140lbs and need to cut for my summer abs” crowd. I’m giving you a 2, stick with it and make me change it. Good luck.

2 because you at least got started. That is the only reason. Eat More, Lift A LOT MORE, Read more and listen.

You are at the bottom of a very large mountain. Remember that the journey is the destination.

keep eating and lifting man i was there a few years ago

You cannot be natural…

Well I sure as hell will say it then… EAT!! 2000 is a good start…for dieting DOWN! Hell, as lean as I am, at my age, Im taking it about 2300 for MY diet down. Id up yours about another 1000-1500 AT LEAST!! Forget about the “summer hawt abs syndrome” and just work on size for the next FEW years dude!!

You’re young - eat 4000+ kcals every day and see what happens. Don’t be afraid to eat for the fences.

you think 2000-2500 is a lot? even BEFORE I started bulking up 2000 would leave me starving, and I was 5 10 160.

2 years for 25 lbs? Eat more, drink a gallon of milk and eat 2 pbnjs with 4tbps pb on each a day. ALL in ADDITION to your regular meals and you’ll be good to go. I’ve put the same weight on as you, and bigger numbers in 6 months. We are relatively the same size.
