Hey, I started working out last year. I wasn’t all that serious about it, but I’m starting to do it more - also doing some of the exercises in articles I’ve read here.
Anyways, I’m 5’10, maybe 6ft now, and weigh 185(not sure bf%).
For the most part i use free weights, and only lift about 90 - 100, doing 10 sets of 20 reps each day. That’s probably not good, for my weight.
I’m wondering if I should diet and continue to workout, or if i should just keep bulking. At my age what kind of diet is generally recommended? Most of my fat is in my love handles and stomach area, not much in the arms/ legs. Should I just do more exercises to build my abs or just lose the fat?
Obviously I’m new to the forum, so what kind of info do I need to post? If there’s a thread or article that goes over how to make posts and all that, could someone direct me to it?
you say you’ve got fat on the stomach,Doing more exercises there won’t help…There’s no spot removal of fat,and you should decide wether to cut or bulk, there’s no build muscle and burn fat, anyways cheers

When you post "For the most part i use free weights, and only lift about 90 - 100, doing 10 sets of 20 reps each day. That’s probably not good, for my weight. "
You didn’t actually say what that lift is, squat, bench, dead, that’s what I meant when I said more specifics.
If you’re fifteen you should keep trying to put on the weight, but if you’re worried about fat, clean up the diet and add some energy systems work in there (sprints, cardio, etc)

Alright then, and by lift i meant bench.[/quote]
Course ya did :). Don’t worry about diet so much, do heavy compound lifts 3 times a week. Have your workouts revolve around the squat deadlift, bench, and barbell row. Throw in some assistance work for arms/calves/hamstrings.
Add in some sprints on off days, eat a shit load of meat, green leafy vegetables+fruit, and have protein shake in the morning and right after you work out. When you get into a groove and stop progressing go here:
Ok, and what are good workouts for forearms? I’ve been trying to get them bigger and how i’ve been doing that is by rolling a curl bar down my hands and pull it back up (not sure what it’s called).

Deadlifts are good for forearms, just pinching a plate between your fingers is also pretty good in my experience.
I actually jut tried this yesterday, and I don’t know what it’s called. Basically it’s a plate attached to a rope with handle that you twist until the plate is at the top of the rope. That killed my forearms.

That didn’t apply to me. I ate a shit load and worked out 11x a week. I’m in the greatest shape of my life. I lost bf% while putting on muscle. If you just train hard. Your goals will become true. Enough with all this technical shit. Just eat healthy and workout often. If not everyday.
