1 Month Update - Bulking as a Fatty

I posted this exact thread in the training log but I don’t believe it falls under that category, so it’s reposted here. Sorry if that’s against the rules.

How it started:
5"9, 203lbs, hadn’t trained in years and had gained around 45-50lbs.

How it’s going:
5"9, 214bs, training 5x weekly and eating in a 600+ surplus on average.

Weight gain graph:
I believe the initial 8lbs was water/glycogen, the other 3lbs was muscle/fat

Summary:

This is on a cycle that was not advised and shouldn’t have been started. Will continue this for another 15 weeks and then cruise/cut.

Physical: Strength gains, increased recovery, stomach/chest acne, night sweats, hard nipples.

Psychological: Mood swings (still dialing in adex), insane libido, increased confidence.

All lifts are up, but notably BB OHP and incline bench.

OHP: 135 → 165 (for reps)
Bench: 165 → 185 (for reps)

I believe this was more muscle memory than anything. Either way, these lifts are not impressive. I still have a long way to go.

I guess I’m confused.

Why are you bulking?
What are your macros?

Are you serious? I don’t even see any muscle let alone separation. No, compared to half the population of the US you are not that fat, but you are drf overweight and should not be touching drugs.

Got it, so OP is just a dude that wants tits.

He is well on hid way to a full C!!

His BMI is 30.

The average BMI is 27.9 for 20-29 year old males.

OP is literally fatter than half the population.

I suppose if you don’t care that you look too fat, you did make some visible improvement. If I were you, I would have first tried to get below 20% body fat before adding any more fat weight AT ALL. You need to work to be able to see distinct muscle group separation. You are not near there yet.

While not arguing the OP isn’t fat, BMI is just a ratio of height to weight and does not say anything about body composition. An NFL RB would be obese using BMI alone, and even myself - at 173 lbs - would be overweight on the BMI charts.

Everyone here have provided balanced thoughts on how to proceed with training and diet. You stated in the previous thread you have two different blood disorders, among other things a mild thrombocytopenia. Yet, you started a blast of test - which you later regretted. Of course you’re hypogonadal, as you’re also suffering from obesity. And - You’re in your 20ties (and have a kid)!

My questions to you is why you train and how you look upon training in a longer perspective? Why the sudden rush?

You should be here to learn (like the rest of us).My advise to you is to apply a healthy diet AND a sane whole body HIT regimen, in order to spike metabolism with muscle stimulus. You are a true candidate of Dr Darden’s 30-10-30 program, which you can read up on in this forum. Follow this for 3 months, instead of being overly focused on how much you lift (and falsely rely on exogenous test to do the job).

He needed to hear it.

Right. My BMI is 30 as well.

But i don’t bench 165lbs like OP does.

At this point, are the roids really even helping or just creating side effects and potential health ramifications down the road? Like these are gains that could’ve easily been made naturally within the same amount of time even in a calorie deficit, getting shredded and burning that fat off. Everything that’s happened here is ill-advised, but it’s not like people didn’t try to help on the initial post.
