nix the anderson front squats. Id keep the single leg work.
we’ll see when I get in the weightroom. I want a 275 front squat, so it’s one of my training goals right now.
I can deal with doing lunges as a replacement, but I don’t think the single leg squats are going to cut it.
Youve been doing front squats for a while now, right? Get your squat up, do your lunges, and come back to it stronger instead of chasing two rabbits. Getting your back squat up will inevitably increase your front squat.

the 3 x 20 deadlifts are probably dimmel deadlifts.
That’s what I figured too.
I just dropped the single leg work, and put one of the ab assistance on the the DE Squat day instead of two on ME Day. I switched out the ball press for a One Board, as a final ME lift to know where your Bench is before a meet.
so
“board press” = two board
ball press will be a one board
single leg work= anderson front squats
ab work= lower body days
does this sound good?
Yeah, I don’t think the single leg work is necessary, but if you’re going to do it, I’d follow Stronghold’s suggestion.

Ive front squatted x 2/3 a week without any trouble so I think you ll be fine leaving them in.
If he can keep the reps high, then no problem. I would still avoid Anderson front squats (from the pins).
Yeah, i was going to keep the same or do 5x5. Any reason why you would avoid the pins?
I would do what Dave recommends since he has infinitely more training wisdom than either you or me.
The only time I ever did front squats 275lbs+ was because I wanted to do Olympic Lifting once upon a time, they’re too taxing if you’re going to compete in PL.

Im just not sure what you ll get out of them in relation to your total. If you think they help your squat then you know better than we do, but training my fs has never really carried over to my back squat very much.

I have crazy weak abs in compared to my low back, and it’s holding my backsquat back, the beltless front squats seemed to carry over towards that more then normal ab work.
If you’re not getting anything out of your normal ab work, you’re eithing doing the wrong ab assistance or doing abs wrong, I had that problem into I started fiddling around with cable stuff and messing with my stance to feel my abs working.
If you want to be a powerlifter and not some guy that just trains their Squat, Bench, and Deadlift, I’d drop the Front Squats.

I’d like to point out MM does front squats. You guys keep telling me to do what the strong guys are doing. I feel like the front squats help, and we even have a strong guy on these forums (a rarity, I know) who does them.
I’m already paranoid about doing tate’s 9 week thing. I’m still gonna do it obviously, and I guess I’ll just have to see what happens. I love deadlifting, and it’s always my favorite day to lift when I get to pull.
I can rethink my training with the lessons learned from this tate routine after it’s said and done. I do think I will be pulling heavy about once a month though.
we’ll see what happens. If I end up pulling 455 or something after this cycle, I will just stay with it.
Centurion should be here soon. We ordered through the school.

Meat also has his programming set up much differently from you. What he is doing is working for him. What you are doing is not working for you.
february something. Not real concerned. Just more meet experience until I can blast past state qualifying totals next year.
I’ve felt feverish all week, but today was the worse.
Deadlift: I tried pulling heavy, not gonna happen. I’m starting to see SH has the right idea about frequency of pulling heavy. I still think I would be ok once every 3-4 weeks.
Good mornings:
barx5
95x5
135x5
155x5
175x5
185x5 (pr +2 reps)
belt
195x5 these were ugly (pr+10)
pretty heavy PR. Since I didn’t really do heavy work on deads I figured I absolutely needed to PR on these.
speed pulls
8x1x225
glute hams:
haven’t done these in a few weeks
mex5
me+10x5
me+20x5
ugly reps
cable rows
worked up to 204x5
BB rows:
worked up to 185x5 these blow cock. DBs, t-bar, and cable rows are far superior
im in the 400 pulling range and right now i think i found my happy medium for maxing,
week 1: 1RM
week2: 5rm, but not failure mind
then from then on build the reps up to 8-10 then max out again when u feel ready
idk might just be me but i can pull heavy pretty often so who knows
