You're Bulking?!?! *Gasp*

Here is what I think everyone should be told and live by when bulking. Note none of these are my own words but of people i feel have made that journey.

forming a body with the correct symmetry, hardness, muscle density, vascularity, and leanness–the kind of physique that causes everyone to look at you and say, ??Damn, who’s that?!??? However, in order to do this, you must first build a base–not by dieting, but by getting ??thick??.

and

Don’t eat to get fat, don’t eat to stay lean, eat to grow muscles.

and

If you are the same weight today that you were 2 months ago, you have FAILED if the goal is to add muscle mass.

If you are gaining weight and aren’t gaining the strength or muscle to justify it, you have also FAILED.

The last 2 espeically cover it all, and gives you room for indivualisation.

How ever you measure it, bf%, wasit size, weight lifted. It all comes down to how you feel and if your happy with how its going.

Am I right?

That’s just the lack of common sense and reading comprehension around here… It’s outright frightening at times, because no matter what one writes, people WILL not understand.

It’s not a matter of reading comprehension. This is the internet, the most important thing is winning your arguments. Ignoring what your opponent says is a very useful strategy, saves you the difficult task of addressing what he says or, heaven forbid, actually changing your mind.

So what’s different from real life?

Ok fine, so in real life, most of these idiots wouldn’t manage more than a few stares, but you know what I mean…

That’s a big difference. I never hear these same arguments that I get here to my face.

It would look flat out ridiculous for some 150lbs newb to walk up to some guy who has been training for 20 years and has arms bigger than their legs and tell them they are training wrong.

Yet we get that here daily.

My post was a bit of a mental cluster-fuck…
The first part was referring to what arguments are like in general (i.e. ignoring the other guy and just throwing some other shit at him, back and forth), while the second one basically meant the same thing you said.

Needless to say, I agree.

Although, funny as it is, I’ve seen that kind of thing happen in my very first gym… The trainer there (someone who actually deserved the title and had competed in powerlifting events for a decade or so, as far as I’ve heard) was told by some newb that “squatting is going to hurt your knees someday”.

Oh the irony… After that incident (and because all the old and middle-aged people “training” there immediately started complaining that they did not want to squat anymore) the gym owner printed out 4 or 5 different articles that said the opposite and put them up all over the gym walls…

Ok heres one that will stir the masses:

I am looking for the best foods for gaining mass, remember I am 18 and can eat basically anything (edible!! :)) and it won’t have the same effect on me as it would say a 30 year old.

And to be honest, i don’t feel at my age i need to worry about insulin sensitivity, combine high fat and high carb meals and all that other cautious stuff older rainers may need.

Bring on the controversy!

Whale meat, preferably endangered.

Why would someone need to get obese to gain muscle?

If you’re eating quality food, training hard, sleeping well and supplementing sure you’ll put on a little bit of chub.
But, if you reach obesity you’re doing something wrong.

It’s really not that hard guys, trust me. I’m doing it now and going with about 1 lb/week of weight gain will lead you in the right direction.[/quote]

Especially if you are young. Obesity goes beyond overweight, but it is caused by an unhealthy lifestyle. Most physicians make it a point to say that a high BMI doesn’t matter if your bodyfat is in check.

The best would obviously be the rare japanese “Oki Chinpoko” meat. If you can find it it will make you ripped and swole at the same time.

Try this.

Eat as much as you need so that you DO gain a reasonable amount of muscle over time and forget about your waist until or unless it asks for your attention.

This will take experimentation.

Right off the bat the focus is on your waist and not your muscles. This is a fatal error until you are well developed unless you want to take 20 years to gain 5 lean pounds.

You may need to carry more or less fat than you’re thinking to make optimal gains, but you’re not going to find out with 1/8 inch measurements of your waist.

It only gets you “yoked” if you’re over 20. this guy is only 18. I mean you know how rare that “oki chinpoko” stuff from japan is right? Do a google image search on “japanese oki chinpoko” to see the caliber of meat this is. It’s a purple color because of the omega 3 fatty acids. The girl in the picture is holding a full loin of it.

Phoenix needs to eat a ton of this stuff for the most optimal bulk.

wot…a…tool!
