Your Training Goals for 2018

That’s about how long it would take me to complete such a feat!

My 2018 goal:
Return to under 180lbs.

I really like this type of thread, but this year my goals are pretty lame:

  1. Get lean - vague, but I don’t think I can be more specific at the moment

  2. Deadlift 500lbs - I’ve hit 485lbs on probably 10 occasions now, but progress is slow

  3. Not let goal 2. take priority over goal 1.

Yep, well aware that 6% is going to be a grind, but I got down to 7% in the summer and I think I can go lower with a more gradual cut. Keen to get down there as a personal challenge, but also because I’d like to maintain a very slow bulk phase and keep the bf as low as possible. Pretty content to do things gradually these days. Not like I need bulk to play rugby anymore.
Enjoying this week off because I know the cut is going to be tough when it comes.

I want someone to come up and offer to move the yoke for you. Something like, “It looks like you’re struggling with that, can I lend you a hand?”

Curious, how do you measure your bf%?

I alway split this into input and output. I can control inputs. And hope for output.

Input 2018:
Run 3 5/3/1 programs. Which totals 9 cycles.
Make 95% of gym sessions.
Clean up my diet
Compete in a PL comp
Move onto strong man training at the end of the year.

Out put:
Bench to 170kg (currently 130ish)
Squat to 240kg (currently 190ish)
Deadlift to 275kg (currently 220ish)
OHP to over 110kg (currently 75ish)
BW down to 105 kg (currently 115)
Post a 650kg total in an event (currently 540ish and never done an event)
See an abdominals (currently been 14 years).

Fat calipers done once a fortnight. Done by the same person at the same time and on the same day to try and deal with as many of the variables as possible.

Avoid anything fucking up on my old carcass

Gotcha. I’ve had them used on me a couple of tume but wasn’t sure on the accuracy.

Good luck with the goal!
