Your Summer Goals?

Not a summer goal as such, but I think a 700lb deadlift is within my reach by the end of the year, and I’d like a 315lb OHP.

As for the actual summer, I’d like my bf to stay on the more pleasant side of “smooth” for August at least, as long as this doesn’t impact on my goals above.

I’d give you a 5 on Headwork for this post.

I’ll shoot high. As close to a 405+ squat as possible. I’m at 325x4 right now. I’m gunning for it tough. I should at the very least be able to triple 365. But I’m not a bare minimum kind of guy. Just got done choking down half a dozen jumbo eggs with cheese. I’m going to hit that squat and still be 200 pounds or less. Plus I’m going to add arm size and back width.

Aim high.[/quote]

6-30-2009 325x4

last monday 375x1

Getting really fucking close.

Squat 275
Deadlift 330
Benchpress 175

now they are

Squat 187
Deadlift 165
Benchpress 132

Doing starting strength, just 1 week in. Will my goals be possible?

Depends on a lot of things…

But if you don’t believe they are, they won’t be.

Stick with my new Gold’s Gym split until University starts back up in the fall.

In addition to more cardio as part of my split, keep eating big and clean. And never be satisfied, period.

You’re an absolute beginner, you should gain a lot of strength for the next 2-3 months.

if you’re a real person you should change your avatar until you grow a tricep.

if you’re a troll carry on.

by January 1st, i will

make the 110lb DB’s my bitch

SLDL 455x5

and

OH press 185x5

no squat goals, my knees are either hit or miss every week. Maybe front squat 225x5 if i can stay healthy

and hopefully i don’t have to get too much bigger then 225lbs to accomplish this.

Wimpy goals by your standards but, by the end of summer,
DL 265 (2x bodyweight; now at 245)
squat 200 (1.5x bodyweight; now at 175)
bench something like 100 (as of today, sadly, at 85, and hasn’t gone anywhere in a while)

so how are people going with their goals?

damn alisa! i knew your back was getting strong but you can hit a 245lb DL? atta girl, that is pretty badass

Just today. Felt pretty good.

Hahaha that shit made me laugh.

Alisa - that’s awesome work! This isn’t SAMA so I’ll leave the hitting on you out of it. =P

i know guys who cant even hit 225 on a deadlift.

seriously.

Get to something like 10-12% body fat. (currently ~16%?)

Then get bench+squat+deadlift to 900 (currently projected at 800)

Current 5RMs and what I hope they can be by October 1:
Bench 165->185
Squat 250->275
Deadlift 290->315

This may be too optimistic. I’m getting pseudo-newbie gains despite cutting but this may stop in a week or two. We’ll see.

Well, they aren’t guys then. They’re dudettes.

Eh, sorta. It still hurts like a bitch, but I have put a whimpy 20lbs on my squat…

Check. Shit was ugly and probably wouldn’t even pass in strongman :wink: but it went up.

Check. I am 240, no significant changes in BF levels.

Fail.

hit the 110lbs DB’s for 3 the other night, couldn’t replicate it last night, but I’m pretty sure it was a lack of sleep and shit diet yesterday.

So overall, I’m ok with this summer and it’s progress. Could have been worse.

Whoa, whoa, slow down there buddy. You can’t just go out there and and accomplish goals or remain accountable for missed objectives. Shit, then everybody would have to do it.

Please go back to posting your good intentions and your plan for progress only. This way everyone can participate instead of only those that are going to do something.

No go and start a thread about what you’re going to do over the next year and remember to have progress remain linear and under no circumstances should you account for setbacks. Then DON’T update it next year.

Oh yeah, nice job!
