Your Summer Goals?

I wouldn’t worry about it. Anyone who has been around here more than 5 mins, pays attention, and has half a brain knows who is legit around here, and who is making themselves feel better by speaking on the internet.

Shit I wish I had my head screwed on half as tight at your age, as well as a few of the other younger guys around here.

this summer i’d like to finally realize my goal of a MMF

This summer I am looking to once again break past the 200 lb mark, only this time do it while maintaining a respectable level of leanness. I am currently sitting at 192 and around 10% bodyfat (I have used calipers in the past but I have a hard time believing that I am as lean as they say I am due to some FFB issues). I am also hoping to decrease the size of my waist and tighten things up around the midsection by incorporating more work for the inner obliques and transverse abdominis.

As far as lifts go, I am well on my way to hitting the following markers:

Flat bench: 225 x 5x5
Chin-ups: BW+45 x 5x5
Back squat: 285 x 5x5
Deadlift: 365 x 5x5, 495x1

I am also well on my way to rowing 150 lb dumbbells for 5x5 with strict form, which while not exactly a major lift, has always been something I like to keep track of.

Well I can deffinately account for WS4JB, Bug and Way because if you post most of you workouts everyday in the BOI thread and make up fake lifts you’d have to be mentally insane, and I don’t think any of those guys are. Plus Way has posted pics and he is a Beast of a 20 year old.

Now I’ve posted vids before of me benching over 300 pounds at 17 years old. I’m 18 now going to be 19 in a month, and I deffinately don’t need to prove anything to anyone because I have proven to myself what I can do and my youtube channel is all I need if questions are raised. My lifts have been consistently going up for the past six months and I think a 405 pound bench is very doable in the next few months, God Willing my shoulder heals, which I have much faith it will.

Now if you weren’t talking about any of those guys I don’t blame you for questiong peoples claims.

nah man you’re proof of progress, i have a lot of respect for your dedication man, 18 inch arms is something to DEF be proud of.

I just think there are a lot of skinny dweebs on here who claim to do some crazy shit, when in reality, they take the info (the good info) on this site and forum for granted.

And as for Way, Bug, and W, they are all proof of hard work and dedication as well. Trust but Verified.

Good luck this summer, must be a pain in the ass lifting with the leverages you get at 6"4. Lifting is pretty much the only thing that makes me happy I’m 5"10-5"11.

As for the Lifts,

I did back tonight and I got 365 up for 3 reps on my final set, feeling like my back was going to snap in half.

Yesterday was chest day, and i successfully did 3x5 with 225 lbs, a new PR for me

And I have yet to squat this week, but I 1RM’ed at 365 the week beforehand.

240 lbs, im around 232 now so I know I have a good shot.i would also like to bring up my bench and squat tremendously.

My goals are to push the limit and see how far I can take myself. After getting the green light from the doc (I had 4 surgeries last year), I plan on getting back into it hard after a long extended layoff. I need to focus on my food more than anything because that is almost always where I struggle. I can bust ass in the gym, but it does no good if you hit up a drive thru and massacre it.

Do you guys really believe benching over 300 lbs is a huge accomplishment? I started out benching 205 last summer and put up 3 plates yesterday for the 1st time. If I can get to that weight in 12 months as a 33 y/o, I don’t see why its so hard to believe for others who have been lifting for years.

By October 31st:

Flat bench: 100 lb. dumbbell 3 sets of 6 (current 80s)
Back squat: 315 lbs. for 3x6 (current 250)
Deadlift: 365 lbs. for 3x6 (current 295)
Front squat: 225 for 3x6 (current 155)
Standing overhead press: 135 for 3x6 (current 105 but only 3 sets of 5)

Break 200 lbs. body weight (current 192) WHILE dropping an inch off my gut.

So not quite summer goals but mid fall and the goals I am working towards. Currently on track for all goals, hope to break the standing overhead press goal by the end of August. Bonus for the standing overhead press is that my clean HAS to get stronger as well.

I’d like to be at 220 by the end of August. Then maintain and figure out how to lower my caloric intake while staying within a few LBS of that weight.

Bring up my overhead press (180x3-225x2)and bench press (310x2-330x2).

No its really not that hard to believe people pressing over 300 that are 5’8 to 5’11 my workout partner kills me when it comes to shoulder pressing and bench he’s 5’8 200lbs but everything else I’m far ahead of him I’m going to the gym right know and recheck my 205 x 6 I haven’t done it in a while I have barbell curled in a while for that matter just using a lot of dumbell and cable movements lately.o I’m 253 as of today steady gaining.my main goal is to b 250 at around 8% bf.

Depends on the person I guess. The highest bench I got was 255 lbs and my shoulders almost popped out again. So for me, 315 lbs is a big deal. I hurt both my shoulders (right 3 times, left 2 times.)

While other lifts are easier for me. For example bb shrugs 675x10, (kroc) rows 200x8, pinwheel curls 100+ x6, but I just can’t do any type of benching without major pain/problems.

It doesn’t have anything to do with the poundage. It has to do with skinny little fucks claiming they can dead 700 when its really a fuckin’ rack pull, squatting 900 lbs with a 2 in. ROM, and bench pressing 300 lbs on machines or assisted lifts and telling all your “broskis” how strong you are while you all circle jerk to a can of MuscleMilk. Fuck
