I will be in the 1000 pound club. I’ve never been there and I think at 40 its about time I did. There will be videos when I do.
Not get any fatter = do not go over 230lbs.

Almost there on my total 417.5 vs 420. If that 2nd deadlift attempt hadn’t gone sour I might have made it.
Squat got there with a 145kg
Bench was 2.5 kg shy
Deadlift 5 kg shy, 185 would have been my 3rd attempt.

OK - before we get too carried away with our 2011 goals, here’s the thread on our 2010 goals.
My results:
sub-200# BW - not even close, I’m running just below 220# and that’s where I’ll stay while competing.
Bench 230 - nope, I hit 215 a month ago and failed at 225 yesterday.
Squat 330 - almost, I hit 325 just 3 days ago and had I remembered this goal I would have tried 330 instead.
Deadlift 415 - sucess, I lifted 425# conventional this fall and hope to hit 415 sumo tomorrow.

Bench: 80kg (176lbs) → 95kg (209#) → Acutal 92.5kg (203.5#)

total: 372.5kg (819.5lbs) → 420kg (924lbs) → Actual 417.5kg (918.5#)
Close on the meet results and if circumanstances hadn’t prevented me doing the December meet, I wouild had passed all of those meet goals

deadlift 600 raw… achieved ![]()
military press 250 raw… achieved
drop bodyweight to 240-245… close, but no cigar…
compete in a couple of powerlifting meets… achieved (one meet)… with crappy results ![]()
Goals for 2011…
squat 600, bench 400+, deadlift 700 and military press 300… all raw.
compete in a couple of meets, possibly even a strongman, and to win the World Police and Firefighter Games Push/ Pull competition in New York in August 2011.
Try and drop some weight back down to 240-245… (said whilst trying to stifle a grin)

just got back to training after a 5 month hiatus…
right now I cant back squat
pulled 445 in feb
and squatted 385 for a double so I was on my way.
next year
nice to see this. I made the most important goal: got a fuggen job. I have pulled 700 in the gym and benched 700 to a 1 board in the gym. So I got really close to those goals. Now I just need to do them in a meet. with squatting. Right now that looks like 3/19. Not too far off.

Bench - 315…Did 320…Can no longer flat bench as low back is screwed up
Incline - No goal…Did 275
Standing Mil - BW(220)…did 240
Pulls - 315…I know, I suck…did 315 Sumo Style
Box Squat - No goal…did 275…again, I know I suck
Take care of problem with right leg and hip…Not as successful as I’d hope…need more work on it because like I said previously, I suck!
Since I’ve returned to school…Phi Beta Kappa…I have the GPA (3.937), now let’s see if they call me!

Box Squat - 315
More mobility work, more conditioning work, less worrying about the small shit, continued good grades, do something nice for someone each day, say something positive to someone each day, not use Just for Today, eat my Wheaties, get my blood pressure down a bit, and last but not least, for now anyways, treat others as I would expect to be treated!!! It may be the Golden Rule, but man can I forget about it when it’s convenient.
And just so I don’t forget these goals, I’ve cut and pasted them to my training spreadsheet!!!
