I saw an old message here from 2008 with someone on here that had eerily similar questions but the thread was locked (and old)… I’m not a regular here or a bodybuilder just hoping to leave some info for future searchers in my/our situation.
I have low T levels, maybe from years of opiate use (not abuse, I had surgery) and got a few months of cypionate approved - currently 400mg/3weeks.
Also got Xyrem GHB approved for major sleep issues. Concerns are how to maximize this prescribed cocktail and avoid potential estrogen and prolactin issues.
I’ve had trouble gaining muscle or even getting through a workout my whole life- plus have a full head of hair at 40 and other issues suggesting lifelong low T levels - plus I have a few kids so no fertility concerns. I could theoretically stay on replacement forever or a long time but I’m thinking I’ll just do it long enough to turn about 20 pounds of fat to muscle (ideally).
So the helpful part I’m hoping to add is that Xyrem is not that hard to get prescribed, if you can talk your doctor into writing a script they just fax him a paper to fill out (5 min form not a book) and you arrange shipment through the company that makes it. The cost is NOT hundreds a month, it’s $35 if you self pay. They are trying to go through my insurance so it will be $10 but my insurance company is evil and they want preapprovals for antibiotics practically. Anyway, I’m using it for legitimate purposes but didn’t have to go for a sleep study first- though I am DEFINITELY going for one! I’d suggest a pain management doc- tell him it’s the only thing that’s ever helped you sleep and you can get by without pain meds if you get a good night’s sleep because it gets you to the gym, stretching, whatever.
Also this person mentioned sinus issues but then said he got Trazodone for sleep. Being a sufferer of awful narrow sinuses that also required surgery, I can’t imagine anyone being OK taking Trazodone- it stuffs up my nose for like 12 hours. It’s like that OTC nasal spray but in reverse. Awful, awful stuff.
Sorry for the rambling guys… guess I was hoping someone could offer info on GHB/cypionate maximum benefits for a non gym rat. I belong to a gym now (well I don’t BELONG there but I go) and want to just get the most for a few months.
