I’d definitely just buy your own dip belt…I got mine for like 10 or 15 bucks from bodybuilding.com and it works great.

Something I use to do in college was put weight into my school bag and do weighted pull ups and dips. The gym didnt have a belt and I didnt have the money for one.
I finished my first year of college and I would always do that. I would get stares from the guys doing dumbell curls and leg raises though. Hahahaha

Yea, if you’re going to do just dips and chins, but I do a bunch of other shit that won’t work with a weight belt.
I do all my chins, dips and pull ups with a dip belt and it works great. You learn to just hold the plates inbetween your legs so there isn’t too much of a swing. The cheapest and most convenient option by far.
I bought mine from ironmind.com

I actually went to sports authority yesterday to get an X-vest. But it was a piece of shit knock off brand.
I have no problem with an off brand or no-name brand, but it didn’t look sturdy at all.
I’m going to just order the “Xvest” off the internet.
I got the 84lb. model from Elitefts. They have free shipping sales every now and then, which would save you an ass load of $$$.
I’m curious if the 84lbs vest is “flexible” as far as how much you want it to weigh, or is it always 84lbs? (sorry for the hijack)

Unless something changed with their design, then yes. I have the 40lb X-Vest and it comes “empty” with 40 separate 1 lb. weights. You can add them gradually and build up to the full amount over time.
yes it is completely flexible, in 1 lb. increments.
Thanks guys, I’ll def have to get one then.
If you’re poor, go to ebay.com and look up “body armor” and find yourself an old ARMY flak vest or even a used Individual Body Armor, which has modular webbing on it. You can attach weights to the modular webbing.
It may not be ideal, but if you’re poor, it works. There’s also the bookbag with sandbags is a good idea. I use my Camelbak with water and sandbags for pull ups
