Hey guys I’m still pretty new to weight lifitng am 19 have been training seriously for about six months and weigh 75 kilos.
Once I finish my current training program (which focuses on 3 compound exercises per training all done with high volume 4 times a week) I want to start west side for skinny bastards. At the same time I’d like to learn the clean. I’m not doing any other sport at the moment and since west side for skinny bastards is intended for athletes and the author mentions the possibility of an extra leg day or the like I want to have one extra day where I focus souly on learning the clean.
My plan is to clean with light weight and large volume in order to build the stabilising muscles and learn the movement safely. I imagien that it will be a pretty good energy system work out and cause a fair bit of hypertrophy at the begining.
Now my question is when do you guys think I should do my clean day? WSFSB is meant to have a max effort upper body day on monday, max effort lower body day on wednesday and a hypertrophy day on friday. I can work out any day of the week and don’t have any conflicting schedule at the moment so how should I rearange the program to accomodate a cleans day? Should I possibly even forsake the upper body hypertrophy day and sub it with a clean day?
