Wrist Pain

my gym is only open on sundays during term time so today its shut… so i have just finished a BW workout.

after every set of press ups and raised pressups. i have a severe pain in my left wrist which then quickly dies away. there is no pain during the set… just immediatly after…

it feels similiar to the kind of pain you get when you snap your wrist backwards when you try to hand someone off…

wtf?

Lol, god damn language barrier right there…

anyways, i’m assuming pressups are pushups, and “hand someone off” could be anything, hopefully not what I’m thinking.

But I’f you’re talking about pushups, make sure you’re not bowing out your elbows, you want about a 45 degree angle in your armpit so your elbows are going towards your a feet a bit.

It could be a number of things though, that have nothing to do with the pushups, it could be a previous injury that is just now hurting with your weight on it so it’s kind of hard to say.

Hand offs… are kind of like stiff arms in nfl… but u actually kind of punch the person with an open hand to knock them out of the way.

i think my form is good… i have had numerous injuries on my wrists but nothing serious just sprains and stuff. never had pain in my wrist while doing press ups. its just weird.

did the rest of my workout by doing pressups on my knuckles and no pain… :S

Sounds like a minor sprain then, when you do the knuckle pushups you get less movement in the wrists, which explains why you didn’t feel pain.

But ive done nothing at all to explain the sprain. there is no pain flexing the wrist or during the excercise… just immediatly after its been subjected to my weight on it. weird!

I have the same problem when doing chin ups, It’s a weird pain you stop the exercise the pain comes and then it dies off right?

Anyway I can’t figure out whats causing it in my wrist either, left hand also… I’m going to hope I can keep doing chins without causing it any further problems.

Go see a doctor who can do x-rays/ultrasounds and look for problems in the wrist. It may be that your joints just don’t like certain workouts, but you might also have a small injury that will explode into a big one the next time you add some weight to a set.

you think it could be that serious…?

my docter is just going to say to rest it… which is no help at all…

See a doctor who deals with sports injuries.
