Are you comparing high school wrestling to eastern bloc wrestling?
I think the majority of those throws are illegal in high school wrestling. Having to do with the throwers knee touching the mat before the body of the throwee does.
And as a bad wrestler that got ragdolled like that from time time, including with some illegal throws, you shake it off.
Anyway I see both sides of the argument. I don’t think its clear cut night and day.
A couple years ago I watched a HS wrestling tournament at my old high school where a boy lost to a girl. He seemed to be very disturbed throughout the whole match and showed no aggression. I was mortified for him.

I don’t get the “let men play on women’s volleyball team” argument. Is that just to test the boundaries of the people in favor of the girl wrestling with the boys?
Because there are already men’s teams for those sports, so why blatantly try to play with the women?
If she was wrestling with the guys because there were no female competitions AT THAT LEVEL, then that makes sense. Equity is fine, but so long as there’s equal opportunity for BOTH genders’ sports, there’s no “issue.”
It’s not just about religion or “pussing out.” I think men in general are HARD WIRED to not be as physically aggressive–if at all–with women, and that seems to a legit point that’s unfairly overlooked when discussing this issues, particularly when WOMEN discuss them:
“That asshole forfeited to take away from her achievement!”
No, that “asshole” was probably raised a certain way AND his natural instinct was to not get violent with a girl. This is a point that women will NEVER understand because they’re not men. Men understand it, though.
It was wrestling, not freaking UFC or boxing. I don’t think the “violence” argument has as much weight with such a controlled, non-striking skill sport.
Have you ever wrestled competitively? Because judging by that statement I’d guess no. It is a combat sport, not a skill sport.
X 1000
Oleena is full of shit, as usual - talking about shit she hasn’t done. Oh, I forgot: she got thrown down once (but pinned the guy). Riiiiight. Guess that makes her an expert at wrestling now.
Take a look at the video, Oleena. Now tell me if you think a woman has ANY place with these athletes IN THE SAME WEIGHT CLASS. Women should not be wrestling men. Period. That’s just fucking retarded. Upper body strength is a HUGE factor in wrestling.
This Title IX bullshit has gone too far. The ONLY reason that these women are being allowed to wrestle is because if they are NOT allowed, the WHOLE WRESTLING PROGRAM will be cut. Hundreds of high schools and colleges have dropped their wrestling programs as a result of this BULLSHIT legislation. If we DON’T let them play, they take our sports away. Fucking bitches.
If a girl is wrestling due to politics, that’s bullshit. If she’s wrestling with the boys on merit, she should be allowed too. I saw a video on YouTube, I’m sure others here have seen it too, showing a young girl taking on a boy and winning.
It’s ALL about politics, man! Have you heard of Title IX? Schools are scared shitless of a lawsuit and/or getting federal funding cut and/or being forced to cut their programs. If it weren’t for that, girls would have been laughed off the mat years ago.
Just because you saw ONE or TWO youtube videos of a girl beating a poor excuse for a boy wrestling DOES NOT mean that it is a policy that should be pursued! Sports programs are not based on the exception.
But then again, with the PC PUSSY society we live in, we can NEVER hurt someone’s feelings! So we LET the guy with NO LEGS compete in a UFC fight, we LET women wrestle, we LET them take our sports away, we LET them do whatever they FEEL is “right” (according to whore logic).
We should never have LET them out of the kitchen to vote.
I don’t support any political crap, but if a girl can make a boys team on her own merit, I support it if thats what she wants especially if she has no girl team option. The girl I referenced was competing against the boy, maybe he sucked but I don’t think they made him wrestle just so there would be a fair match for the girl. He was a westler, she was a wrestle, they matched up even.

You guys are missing the point. There’s no girls who can compete at the level in that video and no girls are trying too. In high school there are some girls who can compete and they should be allowed too.

I feel for the kid who is a member of the screwball religion, but you can’t keep girls out just because some of the boys are head cases about it. Thats there problem not hers.

So this begs the hypothetical field hockey/softball/cheerleading question…if a boy can make a girls team on his own merit, do you support it if that’s what he wants especially if he has no boy team option?
No, but I think a boy should be able to go play for another school if his school doesn’t have the sport. It’s one thing for a girl with the rare ability to complete with the boys, but in a girls sport it’s going to be filled with average girls that have no chance against a boy with average ability.
There’s a huge difference between taking a kidney/face shot and wrestling sports. I’m sorry, but they are nowhere close to the same thing as far as violence goes.

Worst injury I ever got was a bloody nose/cuts on brow.
Second worst was an infection affecting a knee surgery scar.
Its his choice and all, but its not the choice I would make. Sounds to me like he was afraid of cooties.
What team did you wrestle for, dude? I’ve seen plenty of injuries. Broken knee caps, collar bones, elbows, nose of course… There were all kinds of neck injuries. But then again, my HS had state champions in at least two weight classes each year I was there. In his office, my coach had a set of “brass balls” as a paper weight on his desk - the program was legit. I lost seven pounds in one practice at a bw of 135. People got hurt all the time.
Not a particularly good high school program. Terrible college program. But I wrestled against Iowa state reserves at invitationals and the like. Yeah, cuts, dislocations. A few neck things. Plenty of pulls. Why can’t a girl sign up for that?
Because there should be a fucking STANDARD, that’s why. Not this faggoty politically correct attitude that “everybody SHOULD be able to do anything they want”. Let’s put the parapalegic on the football team then. Or the blind guy on the lacrosse team - now THAT would make a fantastic human interest story!
I’m not saying that women shouldn’t play these sports, I’m saying they should play them against OTHER WOMEN. If there are not enough women interested in forming a woman’s team, then TOO FUCKING BAD!
Take the sport that is closest to my heart: rugby. There are female rugby teams and there are male rugby teams. And let me tell you, those women are FIERCE! Hell there are even fucking PARAPLEGIC rugby (aka: murderball). But the women don’t compete in the men’s division and the men don’t compete in the quad division. They compete on a LEVEL PLAYING FIELD which is the CORNERSTONE of EVERY athletic sport.

Wrestling is sport of weight classes there are a FINITE number of spots on a team. If she is incapable of going all the way, then all she is doing is WASTING everyone’s time and taking the spot of a boy who has a chance to go all the way. But everyone “feels good” that she got to play with the boys, right? Fucking bullshit.

Should MY tax dollars pay for the bus to take him there because he “want’s” to play? If it’s that important, the parent’s should move to a school district that offer’s the program. Or he/she can play it intramuraly. Again, your taking up a spot on the team of a kid that LIVES in that district and whose parents pay those taxes.

Even in my shit wrestling program you competed for your spot every week. Either it was an open spot or she won it fair and square. I imagine its that way all over.
Wrestling is a sport for the deef, blind, amputees, people with congenital birth defects and women. I cannot fathom why this angers you.
And talking about torn eyelids and broken knee caps. Seriously if that shit doesn’t happen to blind dudes at a rate that makes it too dangerous for them why can’t a girl roll?
Now if a guy has to throw away his dreams of a state championship cause he won’t wrestle a woman, a black guy, a homosexual, or an amputee or a blind guy, thems the breaks of personal integrity I guess.
And no, dudes shouldn’t compete on girls teams. Its a logical fallacy that one implies the other.
^ A man will usually have an unfair competitive advantage in a women’s league. A woman will not in the reverse situation.
Now which of you paternalistic condescending misogynists is gonna give an inch on this one?

Please read my fourth paragraph.
Also, as shit a wrestler I was, I am confident in my ability to not only beat a girl, but to beat her gently.
I could quick pin her, I could tech fall her on points with take down and release.
Extremely lame to equate women with the deef (sic), amputees, people with congenital birth defects, black guys, and homosexuals. It’s so lame it bears no extensive response other than “Your train of logic derailed. Again.”
Deef (sic) was intentional.
Please elaborate if possible.
Take your time though. I’m about to go get drunk.
He was raised not to be rough with women even in competition. Fine. Personal morality which of course is relative. You cannot argue that it is absolutely wrong to compete with women.

You are inventing stuff to argue about that’s not even an issue here. Where did you see that all this political agenda crap is involved? All I’ve heard about is a girl who started wrestling at a very young age, has continued and become very good. Good enough to make state in high school.
Who said anything about tax dollars to transport an athlete to another school? That’s not how they do it in WA where kids can compete for other schools. Again, you’re inventing an issue to try to support you undefendable personal belief that girls shouldn’t wrestle with the boys.
Women and men should not both compete in wrestling because wrestling is a full contact sport and a thing called boobs exist.
You either don’t allow the girl to call judge every time a guy touches her boob trying to pin or flip her, and then you end up with a bunch of guys taking advantage of the situation to start groping chicks. Or, you allow the girl to call judge and disqualify the guy, and then the guy’s at a disadvantage because there’s a big “DON’T TOUCH ANYWHERE NEAR HERE” zone that any intelligent female can use to their advantage.
If that girls wants her breasts surgically removed before entering the competition, then I don’t really give a fuck if she competes.
