Would You, Quintus? Would I?

Cycle 2, week 4 deload

Squat: I didn’t really deload these. I am becoming very, very angry about how much my squat sucks.
315 5x
365 2x
365 1x I hate how heavy this feels. It feels lighter than air on deadlift.
315 5x

Zercher Squat: I have never tried a zercher before in my entire life.
225 3x
And I will never try one again

Well that’s it. Squats make me angry.

Strong numbers in here broham. I don’t do cbl, but I’m not the most willing cook. I combat this with Tony Sachare’s and a Foreman grill. I season the shit out of stuff and make a few days worth of meat, rice and potatoes at a time. Throw bags of frozen mixed veggies in there and you’ve got a meal. Try to make eggs and dinner fresh though. Guess I’m more willing than I thought, but you get the gist.

Also, you can bake bacon in the oven to prevent splatter!

This. And it crisps up to god status.

I pretty much live on chicken stir-fry (with frozen veges), homemade burger patties (with spinach and eggs), foreman grill steak, microwave baked potatoes and kumera, oats (raw with juice) and pita breads. All VERY time-efficient and healthy. I’m lazy as hell so always looking for a fast way to get the required nutrients in.

Cycle 2, week 4 deload

Press:
135 5x
135 5x
135 5x
135 5x
135 5x

Pullups 5sets of 10 between sets

Squats:
315 5x
315 5x
315 5x

Tangent - I am starting to become unhinged when it comes to squats. I am feeling an insatiable surge to squat heavy every single day until my squat doesnt suck. It is literally driving me bananas.

Decline:
225 5x
275 5x
315 4x Lol, I dunno why I even did these.

Some weighted decline situps.

I suck at deloading.

Lol. My friend and I tried cooking bacon in skillets, the oven, and the microwave all at the same time so we could cook like four pounds of bacon in the shortest time. We burned the shit out of about 90% of the bacon and set off the fire alarm at least 8 times in the apartment.

I’ll try to improve my skills and set some cooking PR’s for you Spock!

Now this idea I like very much.

Deadlift:
135 5x
225 5x
315 5x
405 5x
455 1x
475 1x Fuck it I went heavy anyway. I am out of town visiting a friend at law school and you just have to go super heavy when youre in a new gym.

Did some DB rows.

Played lots of raquetball.

Cycle 3, week 1
9/15/2012

Bench:
45 10x
135 5x
185 5x
225 5x
255 5x
285 1x
315 1x
315 1x
I was flip flopping on whether or not to do a rep of 325 or 335 but the booze and lack of sleep decided otherwise. Both reps of 315 felt really easy, but I was just feeling so exhausted. My friend that I’m visiting can really drink, and I’m not used to drinking more than like one beer a month lol.

Incline:
185 10x
185 10x
185 10x
165 10x
165 10x Really feeling exhausted.

10 sets of 10 pullups mixed in.

An hour and a half of raquetball.

Nice bench man, I am envious haha.

Always the one in Farragut at the corner of Lovell and Kingston Pike. I checked out Next Level, but I can get my friend into the Rush for free as long as I bring him as a guest or whatever, so I kept that deal cuz he is sort of strapped for cash.

Thanks man

Wanted to report a food PR. I ate 5 pounds of steak in one meal. One two pound porterhouse and a two pound t-bone and half of another 2 pound t-bone. My friends and I had a turf and turf night with whiskey and cigars just like on Parks and Rec, because we are free Americans. Would have been the perfect evening if only Tennessee had beaten Florida…

Went out to the bars afterwards. Lost to my training partner in arm wrestling. He is 6’7" 280, but I am still disappointed. I beat a couple other guys, but my biceps are killing me after trying to beat big Steve. I need to learn more arm wrestling strategy.

Eating 5 pounds of steak and lifting extremely heavy ass weights…it would be wrong not to subscribe! Nice basic workouts you have here.

You asked about shrugs earlier, and not that my opinion matters since I’m weak and all, but I think really heavy power shrugs are better than strict ones due to the amount of weight the traps have to support.

Same here, well for cardio and sauna anyway. I moved my monolift over to Next Level for a while. Let me know if your interested in testing it out sometime.
Since you know who I am, don’t be a stranger, come over and introduce yourself.

Arm wrestling seems like it’s all technique. My nephew [who’s 21 and 10-15lbs less than me] beat me so bad I pulled a hamstring. I’m being completely serious. 5lbs of steak is no joke, dude. Where in TN are you? A buddies dad lives in Nashville and tells me it’s one of the coolest cities in the country. Says it’s like Austin with less yuppies, hippies and gutter punks. Plan on visiting in the next year.

Not meaning to question your rather epic PR, but did you eat the bones too?

Jokes, I am questioning it because I am jealous.
